Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

Designed for those who want to tap into the energy and excitement of Las Vegas but would prefer to enjoy it from an exclusive, non-gaming and smoke-free resort, Vdara is one of few hotels in Vegas not to house a casino. What you get instead is a cosmopolitan, all-suite hotel that feels blissfully private despite being in the heart of the action. The cutting-edge pool is surrounded by private retreats, semi-private plunge pools and cabanas; there’s a world-class spa and salon, and you are a few short minutes away from a dizzying range of dining, shopping and entertainment options, so you’ll never be short of things to do. From the moment we arrived at the Vdara we were treated with top of the line quality service. Once we were in our room we were blown away with the amazing view in our corner suite fountain view. We will definitely come back!

I came to Vegas on a annual business trip and chose the Vdara as I wanted a hotel that was not immersed in the whole gambling setup. Initial experience was fairly good with checkin etc. I got “insuite dining” for my first night, where they offer a very limited and basic pizza, pasta, sandwich or burger. Burger was average. Following day 2 I came back and housekeeping had not removed any of the room service plates etc and remains of food had been left in room all day and into early evening. I called room service to come and collect. Day 3 jumped in shower and half way through, water cut off, waited 30mins for maintenance to come and sort. Had “in-suite Dining” for breakfast which amazingly offered much greater selection. Again I would say was average meal. Got back late afternoon and again room service remains had not been cleared and also mini bar not refreshed. Called reception and apparently room service dept need to clear food etc and apparently the mini bar dept only refill when someone new comes to the room so I needed to wait for next day when they would refill, as apparently they had finished for the day at 5pm. So I wait for tomorrow’s experience with very low expectations, and hopefully the water supply will stay on long enough for me to rinse off. I foresee a very quick shower. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone, given the choice I’d go stay at Mandarin which was excellent on my last trip. Read less

Staying at this Hotel has started a new normal for us. All suites, spacious, clean and the staff were extremely courteous every stretch of the way. I highly recommend them for your stay!! If you are looking for clean and spacious, this is worth the effort. Extremely affordable on weekdays as well!

The hotel stay was for the most part very good. But not exceptional. The Rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the kitchen etc was complete and useable. The view is hampered by the antireflective film coating that is on the pool facing windows, and makes taking any pictures in that direction impossible. The Pool is a good size, temperature is a little cool, but slightly warmer than at the Palazzo. It is clean. The Cabanas have their own small strip pool, which is good for a quick dip to cool off (we were there in July). The cabanas are reasonably prices on weekdays - too expensive for weekends. On weekdays there was not problem finding a chair if you did not have a cabana. The cabanas do offer some drinks, and a fruit platter The cafe service is a little slow, and the food quality is only average. Valet is free if you have platinum, otehrwise you have to pay about 30$, but self park is free after going up one tier on the MLife. Valet never seems to answer the phone, so you have to go physically down to electronically request the car. When checking (on a Thursday) our flight was at 23h30, so we asked if we could have a late checkout in only one of our 3 rooms, but was told by the desk clerk, as well as the manager that the hotel was full, and we could not have a late checkout. HOWEVER, we were then told that if we paid 40$ we could extend the checkout by 3 hours or pay for a whole day and we could extend the checkout to 18h00. So rooms magically became available for an extra 40$. We were upset by the cheapness of it all (asking for 40$ after having spent over 15000$), and decided to go to Mandalay for the 6 hours pre flight, and booked a room there. Read less
