Delano

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

One of the newer kids on the block, The Delano brings its unique magic – a luxury boutique vibe with a playful side – from its Art Deco namesake on the sunny shores of Miami, to Las Vegas. The result is effortless style for those who like the finer things in life. The suites in this all-suite tower are the largest in Vegas, and at 43 stories high, The Delano offers some truly remarkable views over The Strip, not least from the rooftop Skyfall Lounge. Achingly cool interiors, timelessly elegant bars and a clientele to match make people-watching all part of the Delano experience. Add that to the daytime delights of a beach club, health spa, and the bonus that you are located within the equally impressive Mandalay Bay Resort complex, and you really have hit the Vegas resort jackpot.

I majorly disappointed that the spa was not opened. I had even called before I confirmed my reservation and was told the spa was open but it was not for open for the entire week. They said I could use the one at Mandalay Bay but only if I paid for a service. Then, I looked forward to Skyfall lounge which finally opened on the last day but only for inside drinks. The patio was closed and no food was to be offered which was texted to me only hours before. The gym was over crowded. Most resturaunts were still closed wherein other hotels were fully open. The smell in the hotel and rooms was distasteful. I think the intent was to be woodsy but it came off sour. To have coffee in the room required a $50 service charge plus the cost of the coffee which is ridiculous. The place was way too sleepy compared to other resorts. The lazy river was excessively overcrowded. We had to walk the lazy river. 3 frozen drinks cost a $100. That is also insane. Room service is every other day but they tell you that. So towels are not replaced but every other day and they do not give you extra. It was disappointing to say the least. The good things were our room was quiet and comfortable and most slot machines were available. We will not return. Read less

We’ve stayed in Delano for many times, however we encountered the worst one this trip. On our last night of staying, all three of us (my wife, my son and myself) were sleeping and all of a sudden some guys were banging and kicking our door for 10+ times! We all woke up and my son (who is 8 years old) was so scared and crying. I opened the door… Read more

We all woke up and my son (who is 8 years old) was so scared and crying. I opened the door to see what happened but they ran away. I followed the sound because they were still yelling and cheering to Room 7914. So I called the front desk and asked them to send security. Security came about 20 mins later, and nothing happened. No one told us what was going on, no follow up, no nothing…Anyway, this was extremely disappointing!!! Read less

Staff was very helpful at check in (and even after I had to return to switch rooms since the AC was not working well in the room or on that 22nd floor that was very noticeable as soon as the elevator opened). I was reaccomodated very promptly. The second room was nice and cool- only blip was that the room across the hall had several barking dogs that went bezerk on early Mon AM. Called and the Front desk was notified. If they had simply offered late check out (M Life status)- instead of asking to wait for the charges to show up and then reach out to VIP Guest Services would have been much preferred. This was going to be too much work so I got my luggage and had to lug it around the Mandalay Convention Center until the meeting ended at 6p for the day. Still love the hotel, but this stay was not without some blips. PS We received email notification for our convention at Mandalay that someone had tested positive. No one at the hotel- either Mandalay or Delano had notified us. Most guests are unmasked (staff are) so not sure if I'd be comfortable going back in the immediate near-term while COVID delta variant ramping up. Read less
