Delano

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

One of the newer kids on the block, The Delano brings its unique magic – a luxury boutique vibe with a playful side – from its Art Deco namesake on the sunny shores of Miami, to Las Vegas. The result is effortless style for those who like the finer things in life. The suites in this all-suite tower are the largest in Vegas, and at 43 stories high, The Delano offers some truly remarkable views over The Strip, not least from the rooftop Skyfall Lounge. Achingly cool interiors, timelessly elegant bars and a clientele to match make people-watching all part of the Delano experience. Add that to the daytime delights of a beach club, health spa, and the bonus that you are located within the equally impressive Mandalay Bay Resort complex, and you really have hit the Vegas resort jackpot.

After staying close by for a few years, we moved over to the Delano this year and we were not disappointed. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and clean. Loved having a coffee maker right in our rooms. Service from everyone we encounter was gracious and excellent. We will be returning next February.

As part of the Mandalay Bay terrain, this hotel is not a casino, it is a all suit hotel. The rooms are comfy, well designed, the space is enormous. Bathroom huge. Beds are simply terrific! Carpet omen the floor, but felt clean anyways. Good staff available for fast cleaning. Also the restaurants in the area are superb. Very high standard and very good quality! For the casino you can take use of Mandalay Bay casino, which is very clean and with a good ambient. Using the free monorail to Excalibur is a pro, to get closer to the strip activities. The DEUCE bus stops at the Mandalay Bay stop and then hits back up north (after 0900). The bus stop going north is NOT practically located. Especially if you are at the Luxor. Pedestrians cannot cross the streets other then with traffic lights. And these are very slow in Vegas. They should have thought of a simple walking bridge. Downside of the hotel is that minibar is really expensive, controlled with sensors, and also the coffee machine is not free. I mean...come on...is that too much asked for?? Read less

Our overall impressions of this property are very good! Clean room located at the end of the hallway so it was less noisy. It was a scenic suite on the 32nd floor with a great view of the Luxor. We found our stay to be comfortable, the room was very large with a second bathroom. We did the VIP Arrival package and found it to be good value. We were picked up at the baggage carousel a LAS, brought directly to Delano where someone was waiting at the curb with our keys and an envelope with our itinerary. She took us directly to the elevator so we didn't even have to go to the lobby or anything. We also had access to the VIP lounge during our stay which has bottle water (tiny bottles), juices, soda, coffee, and tea. One drink per visit only so don't think you can use the lounge for your water needs during your stay. Highly recommend ordering bottled water and having it delivered (Vons). A few things that held me back from leaving a 5 star review: First, the water is so heavily chlorinated that if my wife was having a bath you could smell the chlorine in the entire suite. It smelled like a public pool. The smell lingered on her skin and our hair after showering. Unpleasant and probably not that good for a person. Second, on our last day somehow our room did not get cleaned. I arrived home after a 6 hour outing to find the green housekeeping light still on. Went out again after about an hour and returned home late in the evening and it still had not been done. Not sure what happened there and it's not a huge deal but did detract from our stay coming home to no fresh towels and an unmade bed. Third, our VIP Arrival package included transportation back to the airport and somehow there was a mixup and the driver thought he was picking us up FROM the airport so we waited about 30 minutes for our ride which was unnecessary and not the seamless departure that it should have been for $150. Lastly, our package was supposed to include a $100 resort credit that did not get applied to our bill and now I have to spend time calling and sorting that out. Overall we really enjoyed this property, it was nice to get away from the casino floor and into the more serene vibe of Delano and we will consider this property again. Yes, it is a bit far being at the end of the strip but we enjoyed taking the various trams and monorails and exploring the strip. It's here or Bellagio next year. P.S. We stayed here with my service dog and they kindly provided a medical fridge for his food that requires refrigeration. Also, there is a dog area outside the hotel that is astroturf and provides bags for your use. My dog had no issues with the astroturf and I appreciated the proximity to the hotel. It is across a street but only took about 3-5 minutes to walk to from our room on the 32nd floor. The elevators can slow you down. Read less

Feb 21, 2020 Gregory L Union, Kentucky

We've stayed twice now at Delano! I love the beds, the well appointed room, and the complete peace and quiet when it's time to turn in after a night on the town! The room was super clean, and there were no issues with the amenities. We will be back again, and we'll definitely stay at Delano!
