I find it to be welcoming and fun. The shows are good and offer a variety of music, comedy. The variety of table games and slots make it a hot spot to gamble. Found the property clean and refreshing. McCall's is back open and the food is delicious. The Top of the World offers breath taking views of the area. Food is awesome

Checked in for a convention, no iron, floor is dirty, and the sink is stopped up - ALL within the first 15 mins. Called and he "put a ticket in" but the ticket never got filled. How IN THEE WORLD do u not have enough irons when my room is suppose to come w/one? I had to bang on EVERY DOOR to borrow one, iron everything in my suitcase and drag it back to the lucky ppl wearing boardshorts just so I didnt show up to work unprofessionally. Iron was chained to the board; WHO is stealing this crap anyway? (see pic) The customer service is terrible - Im NOT INTERESTED in "its a busy weekend." IT'S VEGAS, its always busy. There should be solutions to problems before they happen and communication to the guests who are affected. Answering the phone is not a solution. Putting in a ticket that never gets filled and NOT following up is NOT a solution. This virtual Ivy texter thing u got is worthless because Ivy never responds; If your low on staff, there are temp agencies that can accommodate your work load and PLS HIRE competent humans. Who is the hiring manager? THE KICKER - the power goes out. Ha! (see hallway door pic). it's out for hours and i had to call other departments to get answers bc they never picked up the phone and I WAS TRAPPED ON MY FLOOR. Dark hallway, no elevator, no power in my room and It was warrrrrm as hell. By the time the generator kicks in, its enough to ride the elevator down and people to gamble; meanwhile I cant see anything in my room nor shower. Priorities! WHY didnt I change hotels? Mostly bc my convention was 15+hr days with little to no wiggle room. Therefore, I was stuck in the "Jail of the Vegas Strip." They were SUPPOSE to clear a resort fee for the power outage day but it showed up on my bill anyway and Virtual Ivy never responded nor did the front desk ever pick up the phone, I hate it here! I booked through Priceline and upon arrival was asked if I wanted to pay more for an upgraded room with a fridge for $23 more per night. I said yes. The room had stains all over the carpet. Mildew in the shower. No microwave. Bathroom door had no lock. Room door had no chain lock. No iron. The fridge was so small a water bottle wouldn’t even stand inside it. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. Coffee maker brewed cold coffee. While I was there I saw TWO fights in the elevator. There was a man who was thrown up against our door and arrested right outside our door. If you purchase the monorail tickets it’s about a half mile to get to the monorail and you will have to pass by about 50 homeless people who are throwing up, asking for the food in our hands, asking for money, and most of them are so messed up on drugs they were literally walking in circles. I was terrified for me and my 20 year old to make the walk and forget going at night! I was terrified to walk it at night so we ended up taking a cab at night. If you call down desk will never pick up the phone. We had to walk downstairs and stand in a line that was an hour long. The pool was out of towels on a Sunday morning at 11:00 There was cigarette smoke coming into the vents in the bathroom. It smelled so bad! Housekeeping came and sprayed about an entire can of Lysol on our carpets to try and get rid of the smell. The fireworks were oversold because the tower was so packed people were tripping on top of each other. About 4 minutes into the fireworks the alarm goes off and smoke was coming into the tower. The AC and elevators stopped working. We wanted to walk down the 108 floors of stairs because we were so scared but we were told we were NOT ALLOWED to walk down the stairs! An hour later the elevators finally started to work again. The security guard said it was the hotels fault that they forgot to open the dampers and the smoke made the fire alarms go off. When asked if they were going to offer a refund they said to take it up with our credit card company. HORRIBLE HOTEL! Read less

TERRIBLE! Went for dinner at Top of the World on Fourth of July, which started off well. But if only I could have foreseen the chaos and bs that would ensue… First, smoke from fireworks outside caused fire alarms to go off, and that caused elevators to shut down completely, which I understand. So around 11:30, we’re waiting in the lobby of Top of the World with all the other patrons trying to get down. Restaurant staff are doing nothing to keep guests’ tensions at bay. No sign of the manager either. Instead, two girls are uncomfortably trying to deflect the growing frustration of the masses, who just want to get down. Second, when the elevators FINALLY start up again, the staff running the elevators were ONLY going to the top floor instead of stopping at the restaurant. So here we are, after waiting about 45 mins, already late for a show, trying to get on an elevator but the staff consistently show no critical thinking ability to limit the number of people from the observation deck and allow people from the restaurant on. Better yet - coordinate which elevator goes where. There were staff who were presumably waiting on the lower levels who I’m sure also wanted to go home after waiting about an hour after their shifts ended. My partner wasn’t feeling well, and his condition was exacerbated by the heat in the restaurant lobby, coupled with the stress and general unease of the situation. He was lucky he could keep dinner down. Incredibly frustrating experience and wildly incompetent staff all around. From the restaurant hostesses and manager to the operations management to the elevator operators - I was severely taken aback by the lack of planning and communication. It’s a shame, too, because before the renovation, the Stratosphere’s real shining gem was Top of the World before it decided to rebrand to “The Strat,” and I was very excited to see its potential blossom. But it’ll be a long way before that happens, as demonstrated by Fourth of July. Read less

My family attended the 4th of July celebration at the Strad. Not more than 5 min after arrival the fire alarm sounded and the entire 108 floor was locked down with no announcement, assistance or apparently concern for patrons stranded on the 108th floor with no elevator service and no access off the floor. The lack of any hotel employees to assist and control the situation was absolutely horrible and unprofessional. Are your associates not trained to handle emergencies? Apparently not since NO ONE from the hotel made any effort whatsoever to do so. It took several hours to get my family down and safe after being separated in the mad rush for elevators once they finally started working. This hotel and its operation gets a zero for its apathy, lack of training and unprofessional attitude and (no) service Read less
