Small casino. We went with group of 16 and you'd think they would appreciate you but really didn't do anything to comp us. Food over priced. Pool was nice. Long ass walk to the rooms! Room was clean. Buffet was decent.

The Tropicana is one of our top places to stay in Las Vegas. It is well situated with several other casinos near by as well as shops such as the M&M Store and the Coke Store. The rooms and facilities are all clean and maintained but in some areas things may show a bit of wear. Overall the hotel is a good value for the money spent.

Hotel needs a facelift and an upgrade. It’s clean small and good price. Definitely cannot compete with larger hotels. Drink prices were also crazy for the fake refills that you really won’t use. Who stays in their hotel all day the cup is only valid their!!

We stayed for three nights in March including the first two days of March Madness. The location of the hotel is good with a walkway to MGM as well as Excalibur and a short walk across the parking lot to Hooters which we enjoy gambling at. Our room was in the older part of the hotel in the Bungalow rooms. They were pretty easy to get to and all had balconies which is unusual for most Vegas hotels but it was too chilly to really enjoy them. The room was fine - not great but not bad. We had food and beverage credit and ate at Robert Irvine’s several times as well as Red Lotus. Both were good and I wrote more detailed reviews for both of them. It would have been nice to have a few more dining options in this hotel. We enjoy gambling at Tropicana but we noticed the casino floor did not have the same energy as some of the other casinos during March Madness. On the plus side, it wasn’t nearly as busy so it was easier to get on the craps table than busier casinos like MGM. As always, the casino is clean and bright. The players club hours seemed very limited as they did not open until 10 AM when we were there. We enjoyed our stay with our only regret being that we did not get to enjoy the pool which was closed until April 1st. Read less

The chocolate chip cookies were the only sign that this hotel is a DoubleTree. We used self-parking that was located rather far from the entrance. Our room was located in the second tower which is a far walk through the casino and then another far walk to get to the elevators for that second tower. The room was comfortable and quiet but didn't look like it had a face lift any time recently. The shower was good with a rain shower head but the rest of the plumbing was old. The room had free internet access, a refrigerator, and a safe. No in-room coffee maker probably helps the on-site Starbucks. A couple of the restaurants in the Tropicana are very good (Baccio, for breakfast, and Robert Irvine's Public House for all other meals) but the Oakville Steakhouse is very overpriced, particularly the wines. The hotel charges a "resort fee" which increased $7 between the time we made the reservation and the time we stayed. The bill was very difficult to understand, as there were (small) unexplained credits and everything we charged to the room had the tips removed and totaled in another section of the bill which made it difficult to determine whether a $13 per person per day food credit for Hilton Honors gold status had been credited. Bottom line, the bill came to more than we expected, which is the first time we've had that happen at a Hilton property. The casino is not as large or fancy as many of the others on the strip, but it's walking distance to the MGM Grand, New York New York, Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. The Hilton Elara, a block or so up the strip would be my preferred choice next time. Read less
