The hotel

Planning to pay Mickey a visit at Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure? Then the Hyatt Regency Orange County can be the perfect respite for you and your family. There’s even a shuttle bus to take you there and bring you back again. We love the Kids Suites, which give parents and children their own space to chill out. And the fire pit on the third-floor sports deck is a great place for a glass of something, and to toast marshmallows and s’mores under the stars. Add an on-site brewhouse and loads of attractions nearby, and you have everything you need for your O.C. adventure.

The location is close to several restaurants and shopping areas with a hotel shuttle to Disneyland but the rooms are very dated and worn. There was a children’s dance competition happening at the same time and the halls were full of running kids and slamming doors. Check the hotel calendar before you book here…

Overall the hotel was fine. Our room had recently been remodeled, was clean and housekeeping did a great job. We did not eat at the hotel so I can't comment on that. We stayed for a Disneyland trip and found it very easy to Lyft back and forth for about $10 a trip including tip. Where the hotel struggled was elevators. I think one elevator of the three was not working for the first few days so waits were long and elevators were crowded and it went downhill from there. At one point when you pushed the button the light would turn on then immediately turn off. There were signs saying to use a service elevator but the doors to the service elevator were always closed and locked when we tried to go to them. We watched a family carry all their bags down 8 flight of stairs after waiting for 15 minutes for an elevator. When I stopped by the guest services desk to let them know there was no access to the service elevator on the 8th floor the gentleman at the desk responded with "oh ok" and as I sat waiting for the others in my group to make it down the stairs he did not seem to do anything to help the situation. If reliable elevator service is not important this hotel is fine and if you don't want to climb stairs you may want to consider a stay elsewhere. Read less

We planned a spring break trip to Southern California with the purpose of visiting both Disneyland and other area attractions. Prior to Covid, we have always stayed at the Grand Californian hotel. Prices have skyrocketed since our last visit in 2018 and we had 3 teenagers on this trip, so having two bathrooms was a huge priority for me. After hours of research, I came upon the two bedroom, two bath suite at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. We realized we wouldn't be an easy walking distance from the park, but thought the size of the unit would make up for it. We had the best stay and the property was amazing! Our suite was huge with a large living area separating the two bedrooms. Small fridge, microwave in the room, comfy beds and daily maid service made this room such a great value. The property has two pools, an outdoor rec area, a lobby Starbucks and a delicious onsite restaurant that is open until midnight. They offer a shuttle every 30 minutes to Disney for $6 per person. With 5 in our group we opted for an Uber XL each day which picked up right in front of the hotel and was $12 each way. Every employee we encountered was friendly and a huge shout out to Justin at the front desk for his warm welcome upon our easy check in. We also visited Huntington Beach and downtown LA for a clippers game. I loved this clean, comfy, convenient hotel and will make it our home base for all future Disney trips! Read less

10/10 such a beautiful, clean hotel. Greg took care of us and we couldn’t have had a better stay. The rooms were spacious and perfect for our family of 4. It was a close distance to Disney and Greg made sure we had all accommodations taken care of. Will definitely be coming back!
