The hotel

This classy airport hotel is less than a mile from LAX and with a 24-hour complimentary shuttle bus zipping around every 10 to 15 minutes, you’re in no danger of missing your flight home! The great thing about LAX is that it is conveniently close to the sea, meaning you can nip down to Playa del Rey or even Venice Beach to enjoy the last few rays of California sunshine before you head back to the UK. The hotel has plenty of facilities to keep you amused too, with a health club featuring a swimming pool and 4 relaxing whirlpools to put you into a nice trance before that 11-hour flight back. Andiamo restaurant is open all day to serve up a selection of international treats, or The Landings bar can mix your favourite cocktail.

Our room was on floor 15 facing north. I was worried about the sound but slept well. Corner room seemed a little bigger than a regular king room. The design didn’t seem outdated. Maybe some rooms have been remodeled. In room coffee isn’t great. At 3p we wanted a bite & drink. Restaurant doesn’t open until 5p. We walked a block to the Marriott and… Read more

Maybe some rooms have been remodeled. In room coffee isn’t great. At 3p we wanted a bite & drink. Restaurant doesn’t open until 5p. We walked a block to the Marriott and had a great time & they were packed with Hilton customers. Might want to rethink that. My only issue was with the parking. I added parking via Hilton app and was told I had to retrieve a physical pass from the desk. I went to the desk but they were out of tickets. So they gave me a temporary pass and told me to come back. I did and at the exit the pass didn’t work so I paid twice for one day of parking. They should update their parking lot to read the mobile room keys like other hotels. One thing I loved is the elevator system. It’s smart though and unfortunately some people are not. It assigns you a door. If you go in the wrong one you’re going to the wrong floor. If used properly it works great! Read less

Nice hotel, comfortable beds but not very clean. We found the carpet was not vacuumed and had stains, the room service menu was covered in sticky soda and hairs on bathroom door and floor, Room 6058. I feel that the quality of Hilton Hotels has gone down.

It felt like a motel more than a Hilton. Old and dated. It’s dark, and I’m short and felt the ceilings were way too low. We also had to switch rooms because the first one had a faulty wall socket so one of the lights wouldn’t stay on, the fridge wouldn’t work. Other than convenient to the airport there’s not really anything else positive to say here. This is not meant for any more than a night stop over at best. There’s not a great amount of options for food. You need to go to neighboring hotels for Starbucks and other little eateries instead of overpriced hotel food. Read less

A huge airport hotel at LAX, the Hilton is well-placed (accessed by a free shuttle) and has all the up-market trinkets you would expect from the Hilton Group. A warm, welcoming lobby expands to a high (Italian-inspired restaurant), a cosy cocktail lounge and a cafe. All this before registration. The rooms are spacious with the usual amenities. It’s more than adequate for those overnighting, which I suspect, makes up most of the footfall. There is a pool, which looks inviting, and a gym. I wasn’t able to make use of either, but with a little extra time, I most certainly would have. I have tried a few hotels close to the airport here in Los Angeles. They have been good. Some better than others. So, you ask would I come back to the Hilton and yes, I would. Read less
