Hilton Los Angeles-Universal City

Los Angeles, USA

The hotel

A Hollywood hangout with noteworthy neighbours, this LA bolthole’s just a block from the theme ride heaven of Universal Studios, a subway trip from the star-studded sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard, and a hop from the Hollywood Hills. That hasn’t stopped Hilton Los Angeles Universal City coming up with a few extra treats of its own though – like the cool resort-style pool and hot tub in its garden, and the casual dining of its Café Sierra, Atrium Lounge, Coffee Corner, and Pool Bar & Grill venues. Most make a beeline straight for Universal Studios – and, despite it being just around the corner, there’s a complimentary shuttle to save you walking. And, while you’re there, you can also take in a movie, grab cocktails or craft beers, hit big-name shops, and dine at celeb-chef eateries in the neon lustre of Universal CityWalk.

As noted by other folks reviewing this property Kevin is a tremendous asset to this hotel. The entire hotel experienced a power outage at 6 in the morning for about two hours but the emergency power came on and the hallways were all lit properly. The phones worked too. The only food available was from room service (continental breakfast) which was lovely, hot and delicious. Until the adjacent Universal Studios is re-opened this will be a quiet hotel...this was quite surreal as occupancy must have been around 5 % of normal capacity. Parking is convenient and accessible. A great experience, highly recommend and thank you to Kevin!! And to Hilton! Read less

And not only that, they also provided us with daily meals. The first person that I met upon arrival was Kevin at the front desk. Kevin was the front desk manager. He was so incredibly friendly and helpful. He helped us several more times through out our trip with various things. He would always ask us how our day was and greet us with a smile. Kevin is an asset to the Hilton organization and should be treated as such. Mike, the manager of this Hilton I believe, also helped a fellow nurse and I lug all of our groceries up to our rooms. We were treated with such kindness through out our stay. The entire hotel was very clean and they definitely were taking extra measures to ensure the safety of the guests during this time. The front desk staff, security, housekeeping and everyone in between is considered a front line worker to me, especially knowing that they’re housing many health care workers. Kudos to all of you and thank you thank you thank you!!!! I will continue to recommend Hilton to all my friends and family. Hilton went above and beyond for health care workers during this hard time and it will not be forgotten. Truly a great experience!!! Read less

We arrived quite late in the evening, check was very fast and the staff were so friendly. We had been upgraded which I was super chuffed with. Walked into room OMG!!!! it was massive, the room was amazing, the view was amazing (overlooking Hogwarts), the bathroom was bigger than the hotel room we had stayed in night before, the bed was super comfortable (I could live in that bed!) Safe to say we had an amazing nights sleep and awoken fresh and ready for a day at universal. We headed down to breakfast, this wasn't included in price of stay which I was of my only complaints, we had decided in room we were just going to order off menu but when we got to restaurant and saw the buffet our minds were changed straight away. This is by far THE BEST BUFFET BREAKFAST I have ever seen! It was crazy, there was pizza! There was noodles, there was a donut wall! I thought I had died and gone to heaven and not only the food but the waiting staff were amazing, we were treated like royalty, couldn't do enough for us. After breakfast we asked directions to universal we were pointed in right direction through a lovely little courtyard garden.the walk was nice but all up hill, was ok for us but if I had children or my mum with is I would have waited for the little train that takes guest from hotel right to park entrance. After along day at the park we sat by the pool at the hotel in the evening, the water was lovely and hot but remember it's a family hotel so there was alot of loud tired children in the pool too. But we still chilled for abit at end of day it was their holiday too. We stayed another night, wish we had stayed longer. Was the most expensive hotel I booked on our California tour but my god it was so worth it. I will 100% be returning. Read less
