As a Marriott Ambassador Elite member - this hotel is beyond a makeover, it’s worn down and tired... Everywhere we went, it smelled like skunk - pot smoking throughout everyplace we walked, even the hallways. The room had a plastic bag over the smoke detector, I assume the hotel management was ok with accommodating pot for everyone... I felt… Read more

Marriott should revoke the brand from this flop house. The only positive note pertained to the staff, very friendly and nice considering the COVID trauma. Read less

The location is very good like any other W. You can just tell that the hotel has been around for ages. The furnitures are very outdated. Walking distance to to the Hollywood Walk of Fame for about 15 minutes. Universal Studios can be reached by car in 10 minutes. The 12th floor is a swimming pool. The wifi signal in our room is not very good.… Read more

My first positive impression was when we received an email before our visit asking if we had any special requests. That led to a question of why we were coming to LA. I replied to celebrate our son's birthday. When we arrived, we'd been upgraded to a suite and a bouquet of balloons awaited our son. Even more extraordinary was the film the staff… Read more

I replied to celebrate our son's birthday. When we arrived, we'd been upgraded to a suite and a bouquet of balloons awaited our son. Even more extraordinary was the film the staff had made with messages to our son. I'm not talking one of those short, substance less productions like Facebook does. This was a long sequence shot throughout the hotel by at least a dozen staff members. Truly incredible. No hotel we've stayed at (including the Four Seasons resort at Wailea and their London Hotel) has equaled this for a spectacular welcome. Thank you, W Hollywood! Read less

The hotel is right in the middle of the action with lots of restaurants, bars, shops etc within walking distance. The design isn't for everyone. I can imagine it being a really cool and hip hotel when it first opened over 10 years ago but and update is needed. Rooms were a little worn and dark. Everything was clean though. What stood out was how amazing and professional the staff were. I was lucky enough to be checked in by Sam and Morgan. These girls are the BEST. They recognised me immediately as a Bonvoy Member and made sure I was looked after very well. Anthony was also so helpful and determined to get me the best room possible. Nothing was too much for them and their genuiness made it such a warm welcome Thank you for a fun stay! Read less

The W is definitely in the center of things in Hollywood. Our room was clean and modern but noises from outside and the room next door kept us awake. Granted, it was Valentine'a Day and people were celebrating, but we had had a long day of travel and needed to get up early the next day for our grandson's graduation from LA Film School. Perhaps not… Read more
