This hotel apparently has a popular club on the roof so if you want to go clubbing this is the place. However, if you want a hotel where you can sleep, go elsewhere. At 11pm they moved me from my room on the 11th floor to the 7th floor and the music and beat keeps pounding throughout the entire building but don’t worry they said it stops at 2am. So if you don’t want to sleep this is the place for you. They have obviously decided that the revenue from the club is more important than the hotel, so if you want a hotel in LA do not come here. First off let me add - arrived evening only to find out my reservation which we booked through Marriott was lost... Apparently this happens often enough so they had no rooms of what we booked. We had a dinner reservation so we ended up having to come back hours later about 11:30 to finally check in. They gave us a room that was a party room that had literally no working windows. Was impossible to sleep as you could hear everyone talking outside. The ac didn’t work right as the thermostat was in the kitchen.... how does this even make sense ? Also ac was blowing a ton of dust and I ended up having allergies.... Took a bunch of pictures as it looks like ac never had a filter put on so all the vents are full of dust... we ended up leaving early. Also a homeless guy in front of the hotel spit on my wife...... I can’t argue the W Hollywood’s location. It is excellent. Right on Hollywood Blvd with the Metro at its back door and Capitol Records a stone’s throw away. It is a quick Uber/Lyft to Universal Studios. The lobby was beautiful. Modern and swanky. They had a house band the night I arrived which was WAY too loud and made checking in impossible.… Read more
I can’t argue the W Hollywood’s location. It is excellent. Right on Hollywood Blvd with the Metro at its back door and Capitol Records a stone’s throw away. It is a quick Uber/Lyft to Universal Studios. The lobby was beautiful. Modern and swanky. They had a house band the night I arrived which was WAY too loud and made checking in impossible. But, in fairness, I was checking in at midnight. The rooms were nice and pretty clean overall. Our shower STINKS of mildew, but appears clean. My room was on the seventh floor with a view of the parking lot, the building next door and billboards. Meh. The WiFi SUCKS! It doesn’t work at all. Our group had two rooms on two different floors and neither had WiFi. To make matters worse, the cell service is also affected so no WiFi and no phone. C’mon. Some of us need to be connected. Toiletries in room were mediocre at best. I have stayed at Marriott properties around the world, this was the worst. No shower caps?! The biggest hit in my rating was the pool situation. We came with two 8YO girls and planned one pool day over a 4 night stay. I was told the pool was closed to those under 21 at noon EVERY DAY during our stay. Unacceptable. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and was a huge disappointment. The pool was a selling point for this hotel. The front desk lady tried to convince me that children would prefer a morning swim. NO! I don’t want my child swimming in 65 degree weather when she could swim in 85 degree afternoon weather. The pool thing was a deal breaker for me. I WON’T stay at this hotel again. I won’t recommend it at all to those visiting LA and Hollywood. If the W doesn’t appreciate families, they don’t deserve my business. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating great location and property but....

the location and property are very nice and convenient to may attractions, restaurants and bars but the staff needs some CUSTOMER RELATIONS 101 training - not very friendly nor attentive room was spacious and clean and along the lines of the W brand - Sundays they host a pool party from 11-5pm so disappointed that my young daughter couldn't swim
