Customer service at the Marriot Bonvoy chains are truly exceptional and W Hotel really stands out here due to concierge team by Jonathan and Gary in particular for our stay this weekend. Traveling during the pandemic is not easy and often you feel alone and no one cares about you because of COVID. Not here at W Hotel, we needed several items ice, microwave, parking and extended time on our stay. All our requests were meant with grace, care and attention! We really felt special and I am truly appreciating my relationship with Marriot Bonvoy but with W Hotel hear in Hollywood a lot more. The room we got was exceptionally clean and beautifully furnished. I am looking forward to staying here again especially when bars and restaurants open up later this year! Really enjoyed my stay at this property. Great location, nicely appointed rooms. The one thing I will say is that why the associates were super sweet, on multiple occasions during my stay, their happy "yes" response was only a verbal yes but no action. Here are just a few examples: 1. I called for maintenance "they'll be there in 5 minutes. 40 minutes later I called back and said "forget it, I'm going to bed." 2. I called down a half hour prior to leaving so my car would be at valet-wasn't there. Valet said when I arrived "they just called." 3. My room folio wasn't right when I received it via email prior to check out. My Titanium status breakfast credit didn't show. I was ASSURED "once you check out it adjusts." No it didn't and when I spoke to someone after, they told me I 'd have to wait 5-7 business days because accounting had to adjust. Not ideal when you are trying to turn in expense receipts. Read less

I am writing this post while in the hotel room. I have checked in to what seems to be a motel. There is only one receptionist who has to deal with a crowd of strange people coming from in and out. No security on doors. Anyone can enter this hotel. I was actually asked by what seemed to be a hooker to press an elevator floor for her since she didn’t have an access card. The hotel elevators and lobby smells weed. The carpets are unbelievably dusty, the door hangers and mirrors all have hand prints which clearly indicates the lack of care by cleaning staff. Very concerning during COVID. The hotel guests are questionable. It’s obvious it’s frequented by hookers, drug addicts and wild party goers. The room furniture is old, damaged and used. The worst happened when I discovered the bathroom. The toilet cover had dry pee on it and pubic hair! There were more hair on the sink. The bed sheets had small stains on them and the carpet was dirty. I was so paranoid I spent the first few hours disinfecting the room instead of relaxing before my 16 hour flight and after having traveled 12 hours. There is a clear health and safety hazard particularly given the current pandemic conditions. I would like to bring my feedback to the attention of the hotel manager and be considered for an immediate full refund. As an elite member of Marriott, I feel appalled and extremely disappointed in the standards of this hotel. Read less

Having not stayed with a W hotel for well over a decade I decided to give the W Hollywood a try since I was only in LA for one night and how bad could it be. Rumors that the W hotel chain has really lost its touch with what is original purpose which was to be “whatever, whenever” type of experience. Suffice it to say they have gone all the way back to the beginning of the alphabet starting with a huge letter F. First it was the valet attendant who was talking to a person at the valet for the residences ? and of course I Had to drive off property turned back around go back into the valet and park myself in front of the main entrance for him to realize that I was a hotel guest and wanted to check in and park my car. With a wave of his hand I was instructed to bring my car to him at the end of the parking lot where I was able to give him my keys and he apologized saying he didn’t really realize I was trying to park my car at the hotel? The next W wonderful experience was trying to check into the hotel where I was greeted rather abruptly by a young lady at the front desk where I gave her my information. I had purchased a hotel room through Priceline and nowhere on Priceline or in the hotels webpage does it state the deposit for incidentals is upwards of $250. I wasn’t anticipating such a high incidentals deposit and I asked if there’s a manager or someone I can speak with about possibly paying partial cash and partial credit card etc. etc. and if I did not have the full 250 is there another number that they would be OK with since I am only here for one night and it’s not a special room or anything of that sort. I was told and I quote “ no there’s No one available and that there was nothing I can do except come up with $250 or I cannot stay there” . Since it was late and I didn’t really feel like going back online trying to find a hotel I was able to come up with the 200 split cards and check in., I was given the key card to the room and was told the elevators are this direction ( pointing to the wrong direction where the elevators were not) . Now this was a Thursday night at the beginning of the second lockdown in Los Angeles the hotel was empty and it was a little stressful both I’m sure for the hotel staff as well as myself the guest but I decided to persevere and try and make the best of this hopefully something will be redeeming about the W Hotel and the situation would not be a total loss. W wrong again! The room was mediocre the amenities were almost non-existent I think there was one shampoo and one conditioner no soap and three towels. Check out was uneventful And it was a little unnerving as it felt like the hotel was not just at 0 occupancy but completely deserted I was able to find a valet person and I retrieve my car settled the parking with one of the two credit cards used for deposit and return home to Palm Springs. Fast forward to today when I contact my bank to verify that there had been no charges for the W Hotel and the Incidentals deposit had been transferred back to my bank I was told by the bank that no the hotel actually did not Refund the deposit and the money has been taken out of my account permanently. I now have to go through the nightmare of trying to get ahold of a accounting person or manager or somebody who will be able to adjust this and have them refund to my bank the deposit back I also have to dispute the transaction with my bank and deal with a possible overdraft charge etc. This is the W worst experience. I would never stay at a hotel W again. Read less

Knowing COVID should change normal expectations, I’ll still give you the good and bad. Bad: as a gold bonvoy member, I’m eligible for room upgrades when available but like all my other stays, it wasn’t available. Like others have said, it has sort of a low class vibe with lots of barely clad groups of young women hanging around. No view from room just brick wall. Beds are basically mattresses on the ground sitting in a bed tray. So low you can’t just sit and hang out comfortably. The lights are so modern they are extremely hard to figure out how to turn on and off. No coffee in room but that’s due to COVID that they removed that amenity. No daily maid service either again due to COVID. Your room is only made up and cleaned if you stay 3 days or more as they do it every third day. This was not communicated until I called to see why my room wasn’t made up by 1pm. Expensive valet parking at $55 per night. No good food options but again probably due to COVID. The good. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom clean and well appointed. Need room key to use elevators to room. Pool is lovely and I believe cabanas are free with a first come first serve and is limited to guests of hotel only. Bartender at pool very friendly even though a margarita and a can of beer costs $24 before tip. Valets are very friendly and quick. Fine for a weekend getaway. Read less
