As an artist frequently visiting LA I make it a point to stay at the Standard Downtown because I enjoy the special treatment of the fine Guest Experience team. From the European and mid western tourist to the regular cross dressing happy hour crowd, it scream be yourself and relax, no judgement.

I had a wonderful surprise when I checked into The Standard. They had upgraded my room to the luxury suite; I would stay there again just because they did this! It was a beautiful room! They no longer have a dj on the rooftop at night but they have one on the second floor. I don’t have any complaints about my stay.

I have stayed at the standard downtown each time I have a business event in the city. The hotel is well maintained, with a good restaurant/room service and is in the heart of the financial district. Jordan, one of the managers, has always been generous and understand of any of the guests needs. I won’t stay anywhere else for work downtown

Excellent location, within walking distance of the LA Convention Center and the Staples Center. Supermarket for food on the go 4 blocks away at Ralphs. Classic greasy spoon cafe The Original Pantry Cafe only 5 blocks away (A MUST! - go before 8 am to avoid lines). The hotel building is a story on its own - a former office building for Superior Oil Company and spotted in movies like San Andreas and Collateral. My room was literally GIGANTIC on the corner of the building looking down W 6th and Flower St. Be aware the shower and sink are only separated from the bedroom by a curtain, but the toilet is in a closed room! The staff - super friendly. Minor annoyances: no place to hang towels to dry, a "no outside alcohol" rule - presumably you're supposed to consume the very wide selection of alcohol in the bar fridge while in the room. It's also unavoidably noisy due to the traffic in DTLA and the neighbours' doors close rather heavily in the night. Word of caution: being DTLA, there are a lot of homeless people in the area. At night, it's best to walk on the well-light main roads. Read less

it was ok. not whole lot of extras. room is weird. lot of space but badly designed on the layout. good if you are looking for extra space to run or workout in the room. clients are mainly young. roof top is cool but mainly for the young one's.
