The hotel

There are five star hotels, and then there are LA five star hotels. Built for the most discerning and demanding of guests, Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills is definitely the latter. Its address, attractions, and attitude all make it feel like a cross between a members-only club and a private home. On a leafy residential avenue, within shopping bag carrying distance of Rodeo Drive’s boutiques, the suites here are pure ‘Beverly Hills’ glamour, featuring dressing rooms, marble-clad bathrooms, and French doors leading to private balconies. And they come with all the coveted trappings of a luxury all-suite hotel: the complimentary town car service; the in-room dining; the spa treatments; and the rooftop pool, with its cloistered cabanas and 360 degree city views.

So, so disappointed. We stayed here a few years ago and it was great, lovely room, top views, super bar and really cool roof top pool. Wow, time has not done this place any favours. So, when we checked in last night for our 3 night stay - we were informed that the roof top pool was closed for our stay - thanks for NOT giving us a heads up when we booked !! I will show a picture of the view ….. the hotel seems very quiet so not sure why we have been given this shocking view. Bar service is really poor, bar snacks non existent, this is now at best, an average hotel. Really disappointed. Read less

Wow! From the moment you step foot inside L’Ermitage you feel luxury. The personalized touches like the monogrammed pillowcases in the room and large dressing room were impressive. I felt like a celebrity the entire stay! Highly recommend for an incredibly memorable hospitality experience.

Hotel was in a great location. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We were there for a training that was help at the hotel itself, so we decided to stay on site. I am so glad we did! The rooms were large and luxurious!

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. The room was spacious and comfortable. Every detail was top notch. The people were uniformly helpful and pleasant. The room service was very good. We did not try their restaurant. It is expensive but you get what you pay for, at least in this case.

I love this hotel and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Beverly Hills. It’s beautiful, tasteful, and exclusive without being snobby. The staff are impeccably trained. Our room was lovely, and the vanity area is a huge plus, especially given that three of us were staying there. (The hotel provided a daybed for our daughter, and there was still plenty of room.) There were also plenty of outlets to charge devices – maybe a small thing, but one that’s often overlooked. The fitness center was spotless and well-appointed. The restaurant was good, though pricey. The rooftop was lovely, although the weather was too cool for us to swim. We are fairly experienced international travelers and one thing that seems to have slipped among even luxury hotels is housekeeping service. But at l’Ermitage, that was not the case. The housekeeping person was ultra-thorough and even left cloths for the eyeglasses we’d placed on the desk. And you’ve got to love those Frette linens! I’m the type of person who craves an ocean view so will always be tempted to stay in Santa Monica when in SoCal, especially in warm weather, but l’Ermitage is so effortlessly luxurious that they’ve made future decisions very difficult, in a good way.
