Meadowood Napa Valley

Napa, Napa Valley Wine Region

The hotel

Taking you beyond luxury, Meadowood is the very essence of wine country: elegant, indulgent, and inspired by the vineyards surrounding it. Bringing together a perfect blend of social buzz and discreet solitude, its cottages, suites and lodges sit among forests and lawns, with features including fireplaces and outdoor spaces like decks or porches. This being Napa Valley, there are daily wine receptions; but the extravagances at this country estate don’t stop there. There’s a 3 Michelin star restaurant, a soothing health spa, two outdoor swimming pools (one for families, the other for adults), and endless leisure pursuits (like golf, tennis, croquet, hiking, and even Zumba and yoga classes). And, if you’re tempted to leave this luxury, the complimentary house car can take you to downtown Yountville or St Helena.

It is our opinion that Meadowood is the finest accommodations and resort in the Napa Valley area. The ownership and staff have made every effort to make this a Premier resort. The golf course, tennis courts, croquet lawn, and the soon to be finished pool area and fitness club is Top notch. The grill is a wonderful place to have a quick bite with… Read more

We will always return to Meadowood in our future travels as we have many friends in wine country who live there work there and have kids in school. Read less

The property and restaurant were a dream like experience. Amazing beauty, comfort, and service! I am still stunned at the amazing experience at The Restaurant. The entire staff at Meadowood was friendly, helpful, and knew you and your plans personally. It is truly a special place on planet earth.

Went for my anniversary celebration with my wife. What an amazing hotel and amazing staff. Molly from Guest Services put together an incredible trip for us with every little detail taken care of. The restaurant is outstanding. The wifi and all the amenities perfect. Thank you from the Shashou's!

I’ve been coming to his hotel for years and 3 times for a firm offsite including this trip. I extended my booking for the family for another 3 days. Location is really awesome and staff really tries their best. Activities range from golf, tennis and croquet which is super unique. New tennis coach Stefan is amazing. But the hotel management is just terrible. I’ve heard “no” probably at least 6-7 times in this visit. Don’t be fooled by the Michelin starred Meadowood restaurant; the food at Grill, pool and room service is barely tolerable: Room service latte came with a droopy espresso shot and foamed milk literally gelled in a carafe - I don’t even think that would be served in a budget inn. The grill still has 4 (that’s it, 4) entrees (exactly same as room service btw) which did not change in 2 years ? Pool service has no coffee drinks. They served a salad with a side of flank steak that was literally burned though and so hard I couldn’t bite it. Banquet kitchen for offsite has Clover yoghurt with cream top which is delicious but you can’t get it at the grill, room service or the pool. That’s right, creamy yoghurt, is only available for catering. (Could you please get an extra fridge and stock it or ask your team to coordinate so they can accommodate your guests ?) Room cleaning timing was off multiple times and during check in - they almost got my reservation wrong - luckily I ended up in the right room and keep it for whole stay. The property has tons of cars - nothing is close and walking would be great except, there is no proper walkway away from cars. Yes no proper walkway, we almost got hit by a car multiple times, with the company group, with my kids, multiple times, on their narrow roads with no run off, which is only way to get to the pool, hiking trails, and tennis. There is not enough staff - they couldn’t find a hiking guide and called me to tell me they can’t get a guide (36 hours notice). We needed some nail clippers - again after hours of keeping us waiting, they called and saidthey couldn’t find it (which then we found it on the shopping menu for spa) - thank you for insulting us; could you not simply say, oh it’s for sale on spa menu, we are happy to deliver to your room ? Also what’s with all the flowers ? Edible flowers are pretty but not everyone likes them. Please have the manners to ask if people like it. Pool menu does not list little gem salad with croutons. It came with croutons drenched in a sugary sauce which I had to fish out. For Labor Day weekend they were so slammed at pool that it took us 20 mins (literally, I timed) to get our check. Which did not remove the sucky steak, no apologies and had service included - of course, let’s guarantee that since an upset customer might take it out on the service charge. It makes you feel like a one star hotel and honestly that seems terrible management. A shame for this property. Way over rated. Not coming back here again after this trip. Read less
