Meadowood Napa Valley

Napa, Napa Valley Wine Region

The hotel

Taking you beyond luxury, Meadowood is the very essence of wine country: elegant, indulgent, and inspired by the vineyards surrounding it. Bringing together a perfect blend of social buzz and discreet solitude, its cottages, suites and lodges sit among forests and lawns, with features including fireplaces and outdoor spaces like decks or porches. This being Napa Valley, there are daily wine receptions; but the extravagances at this country estate don’t stop there. There’s a 3 Michelin star restaurant, a soothing health spa, two outdoor swimming pools (one for families, the other for adults), and endless leisure pursuits (like golf, tennis, croquet, hiking, and even Zumba and yoga classes). And, if you’re tempted to leave this luxury, the complimentary house car can take you to downtown Yountville or St Helena.

We had a wonderful stay. The smoke had cleared and St. Helena had clear skies and fabulous weather. We had a wonderful stay. The smoke had cleared and St. Helena had clear skies and fabulous weather. The resort was quiet, although there were several people enjoying the pool one afternoon - including us. Our room was perfect with a huge bathroom, soaking tub, fireplace and large deck. The staff was always helpful and prompt. We had dinner in The Restaurant one evening and it lived up to it's Michelin billing. I can't recommend Meadowood highly enough. It is a short drive to most places in Napa, although I'm sure this was because with the Covid restrictions and the previous fires, there were no crowds. The wineries required reservations, but they were easy to get, even last minute. Dining in mid-September at the restaurants had moved indoors, although we would have dined outside if necessary. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were great, there was plenty of storage to unpack, there were enough outlets and sufficient lighting. The minibar was generous and complimentary. Amenities were in large tubes and were very nice. Towels were thin and scratchy. We ate a late snack and a breakfast in our room and also had breakfasts at the pool. The food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the English muffin. We loved the clapboard buildings and the beauty of the huge property. There were ample activities, including hiking, golf, tennis, swimming, and croquet. Meadowood is a restful environment away from everything, but still a terrific base from which to tour Napa. Highest recommendation. Read less

The very definition of first-class service, married to old-world elegance and charm. They have managed to integrate the safety measures required in our world today with an ongoing commitment to taking care of their guests. I was blown away by the property and the entire staff. They're so good at their jobs, you can see the smiles on their faces...even through the protective masks they must wear. You owe to yourself to discover Meadowood. It is worthy of your time and attention! Read less

We had a great time visiting the Meadowood over Labor Day Weekend. Property: The property was beautiful. The pools look like they were just updated. We spend the majority of the time at the pool with the kids (aged 4 and 2) since it was super hot. The pool was great for kids and they required reservations so it wasn't super packed other then a couple of times at mid-day. The service was amazing. Meghan helped us all weekend and was great. We could only imagine how hot it must have been running around wearing masks all weekend in that heat. We probably received the best service hear out of any similar place that we have ever stayed hands down. We didn't get to use the tennis courts or golf course but they looked great. I did attempt to take the kids on a hike and although we didn't make it far it was beautiful and there was water at various spots along the trail. Room: We were upgraded to the TreeTop Room from the Meadowood suite upon check in. We were also able to check in a little after 10am when check in time isn't until 4pm which was great. The room was very nice with a seperate living room with pull out couch and bedrood. It worked well for our family of four. The balcony area was large with a table where we ate breakfast each morning overlooking the trees and golf course. It was pretty secluded and probably a quarter of a mile or longer to the pool area which was fine. They offered golf carts but we mainly drove and there was plenty of parking. Another nice touch was that the tv's had build in Chromecasts so you could connect your phone and stream from Netflix, Youtube, etc...this is a seemingly small addition for the hotel and a HUGE touch for those with small kids that want to be able to throw on some of the kids shows at some point (especially when trying to escape 113 degree heat!) Food: We had our kids to checking out the restaurant onsite wasn't much of an option unfortunately. We didn't really want to venture out far so had breakfast at the room outside, lunch by the pool and dinner at the restaurant by the adult pools. The food was solid (even tried and liked an impossible burger). This is probably partly due to COVID but I would have liked a bit more variety on the menu or maybe another dining option besides the nice restaurant so that we could have mixed it up a bit but this is a minor comment. We enjoyed the meal; seafood platter and rib eye were particular highlights. The drinks were great as well both at the restaurant and at the pool. All and all had a great time. The family pool had a very nice atmosphere with people giving each other space but still being social and enjoying being themselves which was nice! Read less
