Tropicana Las Vegas a DoubleTree by Hilton

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

The Tropicana Las Vegas has aimed high to exceed the expectations of guests with a rhythm and vibe reminiscent of South Beach, Miami. Of the many highlights is the seasonal lagoon-style swimming pool that is surrounded by gardens with flowing waterfalls and palm trees. There are sleek loungers, daybeds and cabanas for relaxation and even seasonal swim-up blackjack (so you don't even have to dry off when you fancy a flutter)! With poolside bungalow rooms with balconies, or club tower rooms with strip views, there's a range of rooms to choose from. And there's a great choice when it comes to entertainment too. Grab tickets for MJ live, see what's on in the comedy club, or join in the karaoke at Trago Lounge every Thursday. Of course, Vegas has so much entertainment to offer all over and you're located right on the strip for when you do venture further out - and just a stones throw away is the Allegiant Stadium if you're up for some sports viewing too.

As a Hilton Rewards Member, I am so disappointed in Hilton for even recommending this hotel. It is completely outdated, the standard rooms lack the standard mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, and if you stay in the Club Tower, it’s like hiking Mt. Everest to get to your room. Housekeeping does not do a thorough job with cleaning either. The casino area is full of smoke, and the employees did not meet my Hilton expectations. The only pro I can say is the location. I will not ever return and hope the rumors are true that they are planning to tear this place down. Read less

I love the Tropicana, I always have. This hotel is a Vegas classic and in an amazing location, but you can tell she’s getting tired. The property itself and the grounds simply aren’t maintained like they used to be. You pay a resort fee at check-in, but not sure what that’s for as the property amenities have really gone downhill. The rooms are… Read more

The rooms are always clean and comfy but nothing fancy. Regardless of what tower you’re in, you generally have a pretty decent view. Even though she’s getting tired, I will always return and stay again. Read less

Ewww!!! Old, moldy, smelly property with horribly stained carpet, outdated scratched up furniture, no towels; the outside of the building looked like a high rise in the ghetto! We couldn't wait to leave this nightmare of a hotel! How can this be a 4 star hotel? Hilton should be ashamed and embarrassed. Being a diamond member is now worthless with… Read more

First, I almost always stay at Hilton’s and while the experience can be mixed, I like to be loyal. Next - I read the reviews. Each one worse the next. It’s hard to find a positive comment (I looked). For me? They let me check in early. The room is clean and exactly as advertised (716 in the Paradise Tower). Amazing customer service when I needed to add a room (Luis was incredibly helpful at 6am in the morning). I’ve heard the rumors about the hotel being torn down and there is definitely a lack of traffic inside the hotel - I consider that a win in Vegas. Read less
