Harrah's Reno

Nevada, USA

The hotel

Part of Reno’s famed leisure scene, Harrah’s Reno is more than a hotel – it’s a mega-casino, an entertainment destination, and a landmark in the city. Star of the show is, of course, the 60,000 sq ft casino, packed with table games, more than 700 slots, and keno. But high-rollers (and fruit machine fans) have more distractions in store. As well as essentials like WiFi, free parking, and a top downtown location (the nearby Reno Amtrak Station gives easy city access), you get extras like a luxury spa and fitness facilities, headline entertainment from concerts to cabaret, and 7 dining options, including laid-back joints like Starbucks, fine dining venues like Harrah’s Steak House, and the one-of-a-kind Hash House A Go Go, whose huge portions of comfort food appeared on TV’s Man v Food.

Really great experience at both casino and resort. All the staff was very nice and helpful. We also tried the hotel and casino buffet. Our waiter was super sweet and they so many good food choices. Will definitely be coming back.

I was very disappointed with the stay at Harrahs Reno. We were rudely greeted by the valet service. It didn’t get much better from there. Some staff were good but most were bad. I was very disappointed with the stay at Harrahs Reno. We were rudely greeted by the valet service. It didn’t get much better from there. Some staff were good but most were bad. I’m not sure why everyone was so rude. The hotel was the worse Caesars hotels we stayed at. You can tell it hasn’t been maintained and renovated in a while. We were locked out by house keeping while they were cleaning the trash cans and changing the towels. I asked for them to let me back into the room and they refused. I asked for their names so I could talk to management and then they decided to “bend the rules” and let me back into my room. A ceiling tile in the main hallways on the casino floor fell onto the floor and exposed black mold on the other side of the tiles. Instead of cleaning it up right way staff left it there for a few hours and put cones around it. The room has not been maintained over the years. A sitting chair in the room had no Cushing left and it was just a wood frame wrapped in cloth. The floor was covered in sun flower seeds from a prior guest. But who knows how long they were sitting there for. Even when they cleaned the room I did not even see a vacuum. Shower faucet cover was down around the nozzle. I was surprised to find out that they did not even offer conditioner in the room. That was the first hotel that I stayed at where that was not a provided amenity. Over all pretty disappointed with Caesars Resorts for allowing Harrahs Reno to operate under these standards. Read less

Very disappointing for a Caesars affiliation. The casino was uncomfortably hot, dirty and we did not win a dime. The room was very cramped and old. Reno is fading fast. Downtown is so desolate and run down. Not a place I will stay again. I will try the Peppermill now.

We love the atmosphere and it had just snowed upon arrival. Walking distance to everything. Food is excellent. Shops reasonably priced. Harrah's and Harvey's excellent gaming. Security is always walking around. No worries. Easy to get here using bus service from Reno. Cheap $29 each way.
