Peppermill Resort & Spa

Nevada, USA

The hotel

What started as a simple coffee lounge, opened by two friends in 1971, has evolved into one of Reno’s most spectacular destination hotels. Winning multiple awards for its gaming, dining, and entertainment, Peppermill Reno’s one of those places you could stay inside for months – if you do venture out, you’re right in the shopping and dining district, near downtown Reno, with complimentary parking if you fancy exploring beyond the city limits. Besides the 24-hour casino and Game Lab, featuring retro arcade machines, you get 2 stunning Tuscan-flavoured pools, a 3 storey spa with secret garden, complimentary WiFi, EDGE Nightclub, copious lounges and bars, and 10 restaurants. Dining experiences range from the sublime to the ridiculous (often simultaneously): think tucking into seafood under jellyfish lights, or dining on prime steaks by a virtual aquarium. Every detail is deliciously ostentatious.

This was an extremely convenient hotel to get to from the airport. The check-in process was a breeze and the room was quite nice. All the usual amenities in the room and great restaurants as part of the resort. It'll definitely be my "Go To" spot when traveling through Reno for work.

The wife received a pedicure at the spa while I played a couple tables so it was a nice early start to our 2 week vacation. Mahalo Read less

Because I was part of running the four day district conference and had interactions with many of the employees. From the housekeeping staff to management and many food service people, everyone was pleasant did there jobs and with a smile Read less

Came here to attend a convention and spend some kickback time. Room we got is nice but a style I would characterize as chintzy... I'm sure it was popular 50 years ago but looks gaudy at best now. We spent the first couple of hours in the room trying to get the safe to work; determine it didn't, getting someone to come to determine we were right, then getting someone to come fix it. Turns out it needed new batteries. Check in, otherwise was quick, easy and convenient. Room is clean but with a bathtub rather than a walk in shower! They proclaim their commitment to "green" environment, "Peppermill works to maximize environmentally-friendly practices at all our properties and all outlets" but can you believe, there isn't a single F'ing towel rack in the bath. Not a one. So much for reusing your towels to be green. And, of course, they charge the current rip off "resort fee" to inflate their advertised pricing! The ultimate rip off since you can't refuse it! At $30/day you do get two bottles of water (not per day but per stay) and in room coffee and a refrigerator and the privileged of sitting by the pools!
