Peppermill Resort & Spa

Nevada, USA

The hotel

What started as a simple coffee lounge, opened by two friends in 1971, has evolved into one of Reno’s most spectacular destination hotels. Winning multiple awards for its gaming, dining, and entertainment, Peppermill Reno’s one of those places you could stay inside for months – if you do venture out, you’re right in the shopping and dining district, near downtown Reno, with complimentary parking if you fancy exploring beyond the city limits. Besides the 24-hour casino and Game Lab, featuring retro arcade machines, you get 2 stunning Tuscan-flavoured pools, a 3 storey spa with secret garden, complimentary WiFi, EDGE Nightclub, copious lounges and bars, and 10 restaurants. Dining experiences range from the sublime to the ridiculous (often simultaneously): think tucking into seafood under jellyfish lights, or dining on prime steaks by a virtual aquarium. Every detail is deliciously ostentatious.

We ordered 2 salads with mixed greens. I clarified the type of lettuce. They said it was okay. Mind most of the salads were made with mixed greens per the menu. I get there after waiting 30 mins and the salads were made with ice berg and romaine. The assistant manager said we don't even have mixed greens. Then we ordered a munchie sampler the server gave my order to the wrong customer and so had to wait another 30 mins for a remake. Back to the room. The refrigerator was not getting cold. Then started leaking water which ruined my salad. I get in the bath I've been waiting to take. The jets would not turn on. I even googled to trouble shoot. I called to advise the front desk of this and that I did not intend on paying for an upgrade with this experience. The girl said she would note it. At check out time I had to tell them again. The lady in the back gave me 1 night upgrade off. I usually don't even pay for upgrades. I am there so often I get them free. I was willing to pay this time but didnt even get what I paid for. I rated it a 2 because I At least won a little money. Just make sure you check your room when you check in. Read less

First time visit to this hotel and it in spite of the Covid obstacles we enjoyed our visit. My only criticism was still having a resort fee when no services were available, including the pool for two of our three days. We felt some accommodation should have been offered. Hotel was clean and had a nice gaming area.

We have been reading all of the reviews of the Peppermill that we could get our hands on to see if we would feel comfortable staying there...and boy were we! When you arrive at the hotel/casino there are all sorts of precautions set up to keep you safe from the virus...temperature sensing cameras at the door where if you show 100 degrees or over, they will not let you in! masks available every where although you must have one on when arriving and at all times and hand sanitizer stations were every few feet. Only 4 people in an elevator at a time..restaurants at 50% or less with reservations....food was delicious and staff were on top of everything! Our room was really nice! very large Spa room with lots of storage and a walk in shower with an actually rubber shower mat! we had great views of the mountains and the city as it was a corner room on 15th floor. Only complaint was that there was no table to put our food on! Had a marvelous time! I was so comfortable there during this crazy time that I would certainly do it again! Read less
