This is the 2nd time we have been to the resort. Both times during the pandemic. They follow the precautions needed to keep everyone safe. Very clean. Kids have a blast at the water park. Even the arcade was fun (for us adults too). We ordered from the hearth and kettle both times that we stayed and the food was very good!

Due to Covid we were very limited to where we could travel over the summer so we felt comfortable driving down and staying here. We visited cape codder resort 4 times this past summer. The best rooms to get are the resident club rooms. They are very spacious have a balcony overlooking the outdoor pool area and have literally everything you need to make you feel at home. The kitchen was big for entertaining and cooking a meal. The jacuzzi in the master bath was perfect after a long day of chasing kids around. My only complaint is the food at the restaurants are not that great very bland. However the hotel is in a great location so plenty of other places in the area to go eat. Read less

We went for a fun overnight to get our daughter out of the house. I called weeks in advance to book the room. Total cost was almost 250$ for one night, basic room. Our main reason for going was the water park/pool. I checked the website and called right before we left to drive there and they said they where running at 40-50% capacity. Sounded fine to us so we left. After checking in we went down to use the pool only to find 100s of other people in the pool area. They started a line outside the door and told us Governor Baker suddenly decided a week ago to run the pool at 20% capacity, meaning there would be possibly no way for us to get in. They didn’t care to update their website or tell us upon check in, only AFTER we checked in. We where #30 on the waitlist to use the pool. They told us they would call us when it was our turn, but of course we never received a phone call. I spoke to the manager who didn’t care at all that kids where crying and disappointed. I suggested to her that she ask the lifeguards and pool staff to start a water park time limit so every family gets a turn, in which she blandly responded “I can’t do that, do you want a refund and you can check out right now”. Complete disregard for children and parents who drove and spent the money to stay at the hotel. The staff doesn’t care at all if you’re not happy, they’ll just offer a refund and ask you to check out and be on your way. The one positive is they will provide bed rails or a pack n play if traveling with small kids, which I thought was nice. And the Hearth n Kettle staff is amazing and does a good job during COVID. Had the best time at the Cape Codder with our 2 and 4 year old for NYE. During Covid is the time to go, much cleaner than our stay last year. We upgraded to the residence queen room this year and it was worth every penny. The steam shower and tempurpedic beds were amazing and the room was sparkling clean. Dinner at La Cru was delicious and the cocktails and atmosphere felt celebratory. The only thing we missed is the Christmas music blaring at the water park, that was a fun touch last year. Considered cancelling and I am so happy we didn’t! Felt completely safe and clean. Read less

Thankfully we could tell from other reviews what to expect. You’re paying for the water park, not the quality of your room. Pluses and minuses... + We had a great time at the water park with our timid 6 and 5 year olds. Never been to great wolf lodge or any other water park so this was a great place to introduce them to water adventure. They don’t fully swim on their own yet but we felt safe the whole time. Lifeguards were attentive. Wave pool was good for all ages, pirate slash pool kid area was easy for little ones and lazy river was great - warmest of them all. We didn’t try the outdoor pool but staff was willing to take the cover off if we wanted them to. We appreciated opportunity to use water park until 2pm on checkout day. + Staff was friendly + Great location for access to food, stores, and other fun on Cape Cod + Easy take out from Hearth & Kettle restaurant. Happy I could use the coupons we received at check in on that takeout. Gazebo cafe was convenient in water park, enjoyed smoothies. - Biggest was quality of room. We booked the least expensive type but don’t know that it would have mattered if we upgraded. The decor/furniture is tired with a lot of wear and tear (although bathroom had partial upgrades with counter top and tile). We were prepared for that and can overlook. We were disappointed in cleanliness, especially in these times where it’s more of a concern. We found a pizza crust under the heater, a brown chip near the table and possibly a pair of underwear on the shelf in the closet. When my husband went to pull in his chair at the table, he reached under the sides to pull in and felt all kinds of stickiness. He had to immediately wash his hands. Germaphobes would not last here. We cringed about what we touched and washed everything when we got home. - One thing to make the water park better would be to frequently remove unused tubes from the lazy river. We saw lifeguards occasionally take them out but it was rare. Often you were floating among more empty tubes than full ones. We assume the sign to flip your tube over when exiting would help the pool chemicals disinfect the side you were just touching. Good concept but we hardly saw anyone following it. Overall we had a good time and happy this option was available to us during winter school vacation. The lower capacity due to pandemic was to our benefit, we would not have gone there if it were going to be crowded. Christmas decorations were nice and everyone was pretty good about mask wearing.
