Prior to my stay at the Ocean Edge Resort's "Village", I did some research to see what others had to say about the facility. The reviews were quite inconsistent, some being "excellent", some being "terrible" and a whole bunch in between. Of those reviews that were on the lower end of the spectrum, the manager had made an adequate effort to apologize. This lead me to believe that the laundry list of things people seemed to complain about, were immediately addressed. I'm here to tell you I was wrong. We arrived at our village condo and began to unpack. We noticed a couple minor discrepancies (stained carpet and furniture) and continued to settle in. I sat down at the small kitchen table and noticed it was quite sticky and pretty dirty. I got up and went into the kitchen to look for something to wipe it down with, and noticed that there were crumbs on the counter top, and what looked to be like spilled food on the stove top. We decided to run and grab cleaning supplies with bleach and at least disinfect the place, making it somewhat "clean". That evening when going to bed, we noticed a couple stains on the sheets, one looked to be blood; simply disgusting. The last issue we had was in the bathroom. While stepping into the shower, I noticed that there was some mold along the seem between the bathtub and the tiles. We made the decision to leave early, as myself and those who were with me couldn't stand to stay in that for another night. So here's the deal: is it likely that the manager will comment on this post and "apologize" for the unacceptable condition our village condo was in? Yes. Will the resort actually do anything about the issue, and provide a clean environment for their future guests to stay in? No. It's sad that management isn't taking guest's reviews seriously, because I believe with a little more effort to "clean the crevices", update things once in a while, and maybe throw out sheets that are stained with blood, would go a long way. I'm sure people will continue to stay here and continue to be disappointed in how filthy the facilities are. My advice to any of you brave warriors who don't mind staying in a place like this: bring cleaning supplies, a table cloth, bed sheets/pillows, and some shoes to wear around the condo. OR, you could always just get an Airbnb (highly recommended). Read less

It was very nice, quiet and peaceful. The unit was very clean and adequate for what was needed for the 11 days I was there. There was a decent size bathroom, kitchen and living room was spacious, the washer and dryer worked great and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely consider staying here again! Read less

Was fortunate to stay here over the Columbus Day weekend. Unfortunately, iot poured for four days! But the accommodations were lovely and right across from the Lynx which was very nice for refreshments. Would love to visit the Villages at Ocean Edge in nicer weather.

I think you are paying for the resort name more than the resort. We stayed for one night and it was fine. The room was spacious and it was nice that it had laundry in the unit with a full kitchen. However, I do not think it is worth the money if you are not going to take advantage of the entire property.

In July we checked into Ocean Edge Resort at the Villages. Our friends checked into an adjoining room. This place had a strong musty smell. Upon checking out the bed, we moved the mattress, only to discover a host of filthiness. An accumulation of dust and dirt was present and looked as though it had not been cleaned in months. There was spider webs present around the air conditioner and stains on the carpeting, bathroom had mold along the tub. Our friends had a similar experience, along with their experience was blood present on their bedsheets. Management was contacted and they stated that they would move us to another condo for one night and find us another condo the following day. After waiting all day for staff to move all of us, they moved us to another dirty condo in the same village which was Arbor Village. We dealt with Mr. Nicholas and Anton. Upon our checkout we spoke with Anton and asked him about compensation. He only felt as though $50 compensation was necessary. This was intended to be a 3 day holiday for my husband, who has a disability. I have never been in a hotel as filthy as this one. Staff consist of students and management would could care less about their guest. Do your research before you venture into this disaster. Read less
