My colleagues, my students, and I stayed here for a conference, and it was an embarrassment. The rooms in the Village (I stayed in Arbor) aren't anything like what's on the website, and the service is bad. Here's the rundown: 1) The place smelled faintly of skunk and urine, and there were ants. 2) The emergency-light fixture in the corridor was falling off the wall. 3) Everything is cheap and flimsy (fixtures, towels, pillows, etc.) and poorly maintained. 4) The staff are nice enough and there are lots of them, but they don't know what they're doing. We had a buffet the first night; they ran out of food and nobody bothered cleaning anything up. I ordered iced tea at the restaurant in the Mansion and got a teabag in a glass of cool water. Uh...really? 5) The stained bathtub was so slippery that I nearly fell every day. 6) The artwork had been removed from the wall, but the hooks to hang the artwork hadn't been. 7) The website is wrong about the restaurants' hours of operation. Linx's website said they were open until 10; I got there just before 9 and they refused to serve food. If I had to guess, I'd say that the owners are draining it dry or deferring maintenance because they're going to sell these places as condos or something. I'm ashamed to have spent money here, and I had to apologize to the students I encouraged to attend. Luxury prices--motel quality. Read less

The “lower level” was literally the basement of the unit where the musty smell grew stronger as we descended three flights to a tiny hall entrance to our room. Dirty carpet, walls and doors in need of a fresh coat of paint the whole way down. The villa decor was stark, cold and uninviting. No one appeared to be in charge and the employees were not properly trained for a busy holiday weekend. Beware of resort fees and the lack muted access to the amenities at the resort, including the beach. “Guest” access is a term they need to redefine. Read less

Love having your sleep interrupted by lawless gangs of teenagers ringing your doorbell over and over all night? Then you’ll love the Villages at Ocean’s Edge! This place is full of out of control teenagers who are allowed to run in packs at 10PM, disturbing guest rooms. I caught one group of kids ring our doorbell 4 separate times after 10 PM. They kept coming back even after I caught them in the act. Clearly, they are accustomed to getting away with this sort of lawlessness. This place is completely out of control. Look elsewhere if you are looking to feel safe or sleep at night. Read less

Ocean Edge is a resort with beautiful gardens, the beach is great and food was alright. During our stay Ron Nichols made us feel at home. When he realized we didn’t have a car at our disposal he even helped us do some grocery shopping on the first day! Wish I could have stayed longer.

We had a fantastic stat at the Villages. The accommodation was great and very clean. The staff were so attentive and helpful. A big thank you to Jeff in Bayzo's who was so nice and welcoming. A great pub and that's coming from an Irishman! Thank you for a most relaxing and fun stay. Ps. The golf course is excellent.
