As it’s really meant for the beach, there is no carpeting but rather flooring which is good to clean away sand but uncomfortable if you’re wanting something plush for your bare feet. Bed was comfortable enough but TV stations were lacking, toiletries minimal and poor quality, and there is only rather uncomfortable chair in addition to the bed. Lighting was mediocre in the bathroom. The coffee maker and mini fridge were good to have and needed as there aren’t any real facilities in site for drinks and food, aside from the ubiquitous vending machine. Aside from cleaning staff there was only one other person working the place that I could see. It’s about 15min by foot to the main drag in P-town. Parking is easy and it’s clean but there’s no homey aspects at all. It IS good for privacy if you’re not into the B&B intrusiveness. Still, not worth the price. Read less

We stayed in a King Size Bayview room on the second floor and were pleased that we could just walk out to the beach or across the street to the dunes. The lobby, pool, pool bar and fire pit area have been nicely updated and the room served our purpose just fine - not quite as fancy as I may have expected for the in-season price, but it was clean and the house keeping team did an AMAZING job each day. It would have been nice to have a private balcony but this is a typical motel and we knew what we were getting. It was a quick bus ride or Uber down to the main area of Commercial Street (we often took a pedi-cab). One thing we wanted to note was the excellent customer service from Kevin at the front desk. He really helped us with so much during our stay in P-Town - from restaurants, to markets, the bus schedule, etc., he was fantastic! I called him every day (I’m sure he was THRILLED lol) and he was beyond patient. Read less

I'm starting off this review by saying if you look at my numerousTrip Advisor reviews, we've had very good hotel/lodging experiences and I've given almost all 4 or 5 stars with hotels ranging from Paris, France to San Francisco - from big cities to smaller towns, and many in between!. The issue with Harbor Hotel was the room! We booked a room online directly on their site. We booked a "Bayview room" based on their sites description of "Second to none, our Bay View Rooms offer the most stunning views of the Provincetown Bay and surrounding areas". Based on that, we were willing to pay a very significant premium (think NYC hotel rooms rates during holiday season) for the room because of Carnival week - and waking up to a "stunning view" was worth the extravagant price for a motel room. What we were given was a first floor room (#105) looking out onto the parking lot! Yes, the bay was in the background BUT the cars were merely feet from our window and took up most of the view. When I voiced concern (almost immediately upon seeing the room) to the assistant manager Jay, he said we would take care some $ of the bill and would speak to the manager who wasn't in. Considering what we paid for the room, the rate modification was minimal and I told Jay I'd rather just have a room with the view that was advertised/promoted on their site. This was Monday night when we checked in & Jay said he'd have the manager get back to us. Tues - no response, Weds - I ask AGAIN and J tells me the manager has been out due to a personal issue. I understand that can happen BUT if your property is willing to charge the premium rates they do, then someone with the authority should be on hand to handle situations like this - especially during one of the main event weeks in Provincetown. The NET NET is while Jay repeatedly told me (in a very apathetic way) he would speak with the main manager to rectify this, he never got back to me & I had to chase him down each time. They were NOT able to change the room and instead of waking up to open bay views, we woke up to the view of front end of cars directly out of the window. HARBOR HOTEL - your web site should clearly state & describe a difference between 1st & 2nd floor rooms. That's ok if you want to (and should) charge different rates - as the open views should command that. I'd be willing to bet what we paid was probably some of their highest rates for that type of room. Your site clearly shows the Bay View rooms with unobstructed views - not at all what we received. Now for the rest of the room, very tired looking, small and needs updating. Again, would have put that aside if we were given a room with a real view. Read less

The hotel was fine. It's clean, beds are comfortable, staff is friendly enough and the view is outstanding—although it's probably a 15 walk into town. It's nothing fancy. It's basically a motel with some hip flourishes. It's not as nice as the pictures suggest, but it's FINE. What bothered me were the hidden costs. We knew about the $20 resort… Read more

It's basically a motel with some hip flourishes. It's not as nice as the pictures suggest, but it's FINE. What bothered me were the hidden costs. We knew about the $20 resort cost upfront, but it still is kind of ridiculous. This isn't a resort, it's a motel! Cheerios in a plastic container cost $5. Taking a bike into town is $20—per person! I've actually never been to another hotel that charged for this stuff. It was disappointing. It was a quick stay for us and it was raining so we couldn't take advantage of the pool and fire pits, which looked nice, but as it was the stay was only so so. Read less
