So the good news is that the room was large, the fireplace worked, the shower is fabulous - hot with great water pressure and the linens were clean. I don't mind that the furnishings are not particularly up to date. It was the sloppiness of the upkeep that was the problem. Glue marks dripping down from the toilet paper holder. I don't mind that the furnishings are not particularly up to date. It was the sloppiness of the upkeep that was the problem. Glue marks dripping down from the toilet paper holder. The towel bar that was attached to drywall instead of a stud. The peeling paint on the woodwork. The lack of any kind of USB ports and not enough outlets for two computers and two phones, unless you used the bathroom. The chips in the fiberglass bathroom surround. And a new one for me, the soap smelled horrible. Unconcsiounable was the fact that they did not salt or sand the driveway which was the only way to get from our room to the lobby for breakfast. It had snowed and then rained during the night and it was covered with a thin layer of black ice. And the breakfast? There were tired bagels, the hardest most unpleasant hard boiled egg I've ever eaten, muffins that tasted so artificial I spit it out. The coffee was okay. On day two we ditched breakfast and went to Sift for wonderful pastries and great coffee. Oh and one more thing as we were checking to make sure we hadn't forgotten anything and discovered that the bed was on totally unnecessary risers. We are not spring chickens and struggled to get into that bed every night. Please make it a normal height! Read less

This hotel is in need of renovation! The beds are old, the carpets are stained and decor is outdated! We decided not to stay the night and lose the $ spent on the room after they refused to give money because it was booked on a third party sight.

Poorly designed entrance made our room difficult to locate, perhaps due to directions offered by indifferent and distracted desk / reception person. Room was in need of good cleaning, stained carpet needed cleaning, could write my name on furnishings in dust with my finger. Room was in need of good cleaning, stained carpet needed cleaning, could write my name on furnishings in dust with my finger. Shabby, dated, furnishings need repair/re-touching although bed was very comfortable. Room needs a major spruce-up - "Past its sell-by-date" was our overall impression. We won't be back and cannot recommend. Read less

I stayed on Christmas Eve. Other reviewers have stated that this place needs renovation. I agree wholeheartedly. It's amazing that a hotel can offer rooms that smell, have filthy rugs, stained sheets and crappy furniture. Just amazing. I kept my shoes on the entire time and couldn't get up the courage to take a shower. Also, shouldn't the front… Read more

I kept my shoes on the entire time and couldn't get up the courage to take a shower. Also, shouldn't the front desk have known that there were no restaurants open on Christmas Eve? Two stars because the towels seemed clean and the price was right. Read less

Consider an overnight in Mystic off-season. The Mystic Inn had great, well-priced accommodations for a group of friends in town to visit the Mystic Seaport and its wonderful exhibit of Turner paintings (on view through February.) The staff was so helpful, and our room was just right - attractive, quiet and comfortable. The Rocks 21 bar and… Read more
