I had a lovely night at the Mayflower, including a spectacular experience at the Spa. While there was an unfortunate maintenance issue that disrupted my sleep, this was handled beautifully by the front desk. The inn is gorgeous, as is the property, and the spa is magnificent. Will return to this lovely inn and all of thoughtful folks working… Read more

This is our second visit to Mayflower and we really wanted to love it. It’s a wonderful hotel with the most relaxing spa I’ve ever been too and our first visit was flawless. On our second visit, everything started on a strong note with a suite upgrade and sparkling wine. We had a great day at the spa and when we returned to our room there were 2 big issues. The suite in the speedwell cottage was beautiful but the mattress was lopsided and needs to be replaced - my husband woke up with back pain Secondly the bathrooms are freezing. There was no heat (on a frigid 5 degree night) and I cringed every time we had to use it. There is a “heat light” dial but it heats up a small concentrated area in front of the shower. It was so cold in the bathroom (particularly the floors) that we decided to shower in the spa instead. Hopefully these are easy fixes for an otherwise wonderful hotel Read less

My wife and I decided to take a few days midweek away from the kids; we were looking for a spa escape within driving distance of Boston. Not wanting to break the bank on Twin Farms, we were drawn to the Mayflower Inn with the many positive reviews as well as a great deal on Secret Escapes. We had booked a suite and--most likely because the Inn was very quiet midweek in January--we were put in one of the Grace Suites. A stunning room in every way, with classically tasteful decor, a very comfortable bed, separate living and dining space as well as a powder room in addition to the very large master bath. Even without such a great room, the Inn offers many places to sit and relax by the fire, read, or just enjoy a drink. The service was superb in every respect, from the housekeepers to the valet folks to the folks in the Spa. Old school service like this is a dying art and what a delight to experience it at the Mayflower. The Spa is a remarkable space, with multiple rooms for exercise classes, a breathtaking relaxation room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a pond and the forested ridge behind it. There is an indoor pool which is heated to 92 degrees, as well as a whirlpool, steam, sauna, etc. The only shortcoming--really reaching here--is that the exercise equipment in the Spa workout room as well as in the fitness room in the main building, is older stuff. It's mostly well maintained but certainly not state-of-the-art and wasn't up to the standards of the rest of the Spa or the property in general. We had a great dinner in the main dining room as well as a great breakfast. Again, service was superior. Highly recommend this place and we will most certainly be back. Read less
