At the heart of the estate lies Spa House, created to provide the ultimate sanctuary to sooth, refresh and rejuvenate mind, body and soul. As well as a wonderfully tempting range of treatments, there’s also a fully equipped gym and fitness classes at the Spa, ranging from yoga and Pilates to kick boxing. Other amenities include a tennis court and putting green or simply relax in the privacy of your room, watching a film from the DVD library. For all-American cooking, the Tap Room is ideal, with its sociable, laid-back atmosphere. My wife and I have wanted to go here for a long time and finally were able to swing it for our 2 year wedding anniversary. The property is absolutely stunning and the spa could be one of the nicest spas on the east coast. The staff was so friendly esp Connor who gave us a full tour of the property and was such a nice guy. Also, Scott was our server in the morning for breakfast and was very professional and friendly. The property has two main towers of rooms and we stayed at the one closer to the spa which I liked because that's where we spent the majority of our time. The hotel also gave us a big upgrade to a balcony room with a fireplace. If you can swing it I would try and go midweek vs the weekend as the rates are more affordable and the property wasn't as crowded. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely come back. Read less

Its an ancient mansion - a boarding school so the story says - tucked off an out of the way road roaming through no where. Thank god there was someplace for me to stay while visiting from out of town on business and I was still 30 minutes from my destination. Very fru-fru with four poster beds and turn down service. The appointment and the stuffiness is evident when you pull up to the front - a bell man says he will 'turn the car around' even after you say "I'm leaving again in two minutes". The bath room was fully renovated but there was no real business desk to spread out and work on. Downstairs in the living areas was a big ol library packed with books, a sitting room, bar and restaurant trying to instill a reputation (I didnt eat there so can't confirm). Modern workout room in basement. My room was in the main house not one of the cottage sites on grounds. They have wifi but I had no cel reception so couldnt call out, glad my stay was short. It was quiet and the bed was not super comfy, the bedding a little too warm even though the evening was chilly. It's very expensive. Read less
