We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at this exceptional property and will gladly return in the future. The main house is both cozy and luxe––they spared no detail for elevated design and comfort, yet it still feels intimate and unpretentious. We stayed in room #32, with a private balcony overlooking the lovely Shakespeare Garden (the perfect perch to enjoy an evening cocktail or morning coffee!) a down pillow-laden canopy bed that was most unmotivating to leave, and a lounge area warmed by a comforting gas fireplace, coffee press, and tea service at turndown. The spa is next-level, and thanks to Yvonne, my deep-tissue massage therapist, I emerged a completely relaxed lump of jello. The Garden Room and Tap Room restaurants have well-curated menus and delicious food, (we were there on early weekdays so all was à la carte) plus the staff was more than willing to customize and adapt anything to our tastes. Speaking of staff, they are truly what makes this an extra special destination. Everyone, from the management to the front desk, restaurant, and others had a genuine passion for the property, and for guest service––they were above and beyond helpful, gracious, and proactive. All of that goes a long way toward making you feel at home and simply lucky to be there. Will we return? Yes, please! Read less

We were greeted immediately upon arrival. At the front desk, everyone was so friendly and lovely, check-in and check-out were paiinless! Be sure to sit out at the fire pit at least once for a bite and a cocktail. Ask for Ty, Luke or Tyler! They're adorable and will help you out with whatever you need. Also be sure to order a Zombie from Bartender Extraordinaire Babís - they are tasty! We enjoyed poking around the antique stores in Waterbury, bur mostly just relaxed on the property! This is a wonderful place to come and relax and reset! Read less

This is a lovely spot - excellent service and wonderful staff. The spa is gorgeous and the services were great - unfortunately COVID limited our use of some of them. The food service could use some tweaking, there weren't enough options and the room service was very uneven (always something missing) but overall we loved the hotel and will return.

The Mayflower is a special place. Tucked away in northwest CT it feels like a world away, even though our drive was only an hour from Greenwich. The spa is lovely, the shops in the hotel are very nice, and the staff is exceptional. You feel very pampered and taken care of when you stay at the Mayflower. Breakfast on the porch was really lovely.

Extra touches such as the cozy throws and a great reading chair and ottoman nook were thoughtfully conceived and made the Winter vacation that more cozy and enjoyable. The staff is fantastic - attentive and eager to please. I know it's been said innumerable times before but the spa onsite is amazing - one of the best I have visited recently. Fantastic! It's a lovely stay - a perfect place for our first romantic escape since COVID and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Thank you everyone for making our stay so memorable! Jen Read less
