This grand and beautiful property used to be 5-star service oriented and very personal in every aspect. Although the property has had a lovely and much needed face-lift, the warmth and personal service aspect that was once a trademark has been diminished. In particular, the restaurant is a real failing; it took nearly an hour of back and forth with room service to learn that they were unable to accommodate my allergy limitations- they could not even broil or grill a plain piece of chicken breast for me (lucky I carry Boost for emergencies when I travel). I raised the issue with the rooms manager, who, since the restaurant manager could not be bothered, pressed the chef for an accommodation of a grilled chicken thigh. He also promised to follow up with the GM and F&B manager. How fortunate for me. Room experience very nice, food experience- bring your own. Read less

It seems like the hotel is in a transition phase. We have stayed there before and it also was in a transition phase about a year ago. Our room was the worst room probably in the entire resort. It was right above the lobby and the check-in area and you could hear every single person that came in and chatted in the lobby and the music from the lobby and the vacuum in the early mornings in the lobby. It was not a high-quality resort because of that. The staff did apologize but could not move our room and gave us a 20% discount at the end which was nice I guess. I think they probably should have comped dinner and they should definitely not put anyone in that room ever. For the price you pay for a high-quality resort this was not the right experience. We were woken up every day at 7 AM by the noise. Other than that we enjoyed the pool and the area and the food. Read less

Five stars all the way !!!!!!!! They just renovated their rooms and wow , that designer needs to win some awards . The rooms are the epitome of class and elegance . Don’t get me started on the beds . You’re literally encased in this ultra luxe upholstered canopy , with the most perfect tailoring . The restaurant is delicious , service totally personal and top notch . Kudos to the GM Israel who is running an efficiently smooth operation . Their events coordinator Jordanna Dzierga quickly became one of my favorite people on the planet with her incredibly warm personality , loveliest demeanour , professionalism and soft spoken ways . Loved her . The grounds here are out of a fairy tale . The view of the gardens from our room took my breath away . The bathroom is perfection . The gift shop which was newly opened is beyond stunning and a portait of class and sophistication . The spa is by far the most stunning piece of work I’ve ever seen in my life . Pics do it zero justice . You gotta expérience this in person . Totally coming back next chance I get . Thank you to all who made our stay most memorable and most comfortable . I ranked their beds the number 1 most comfy beds of any hotel room I’ve ever stayed at in my life . I’ve stayed at hundreds of super high end hotels so those are fighting words , believe me ! Bravo to the team at the mayflower who have meticulously crafted such a property . Oh and one more tip : there is a nature hike on the actual grounds which is stunning ! A must do ! Read less

Kudos to the interior designer of this hotel because it is gorgeous! No detail is overlooked in all aspects of it’s superb appearance, landscaping, rooms and service. They also have an outstanding chef. If you want to go somewhere quiet to relax, you can’t top the Mayflower Inn and Spa. To quote my husband “It’s as good as it gets!”.

We just returned from a wonderful three night stay at Mayflower Inn & Spa. We stayed five years ago when it was Mayflower Grace and the improvements are incredible. The entire property has had a facelift and the staff seems to be all new. The level of service far exceeds most properties in the US, but was friendly, personal and not "stuffy." The hotel only opened 5 days before we arrived due to COVID-19 and there was an excitement from all of the staff that you could really feel and it was appreciated. Highlights to call out: 1. We were upgraded to a Mayflower Suite (room #22). It was incredible, although not one of the newly renovated rooms, but we did not mind! 2. The food has REALLY improved since our visit 5 years ago. The new chef has put together a great menu and everything we had was great. 3. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. From Logan greeting us when we arrived, Anthony's personal touches, Megan at breakfast, Orlando remembering our drink orders each evening to management who introduced themselves during check-in and stopped by to say good-bye as we were leaving. Improvements to call out (but did not take away from my 5-start rating): 1. The pool area needs to be improved. The furniture seems like it is from Grandma's lake house that does not get used much. There is no music playing and the landscaping leaves a lot to be desired. However the staff is friendly and accommodating. 2. Perhaps its because they have only been re-opened a few days... but as great as the staff is they do not function like a well orchestrated machine. Small things like every time food was delivered they placed the plate in front of the wrong person, parts of breakfast were not delivered together, we were promised an outdoor table for dinner by one person and then told by another there was not one available. It is not a huge problem, but it is for sure noticed and at these prices it needs improvement. 3. The $45/day resort fee seems high when not everything is open during COVID-19 reopening restrictions. There is extremely limited use of the spa amenities, no put-put, limited space at the pool, etc. I just think there should be a consideration at this time for the resort fee. We loved the area so much when we visited 5 years ago we said that we would buy a house near by one day. Well, the purpose of this trip was to close on our house only 10min from the property. We look forward to becoming "regulars" at the Mayflower! Read less
