Bayview Hotel

Maine, New England

The hotel

If you’re going to stay in Bar Harbor, a waterfront pad is a must. Every room at The Bayview is set just 75 foot from the shore, with views over Frenchman’s Bay and the Atlantic, and a balcony to enjoy them from. But it’s not just your guestroom that benefits from the vista. You can take breakfast on the Champlain Room’s oceanfront terrace, tucking into homemade pastries, scones and muffins, and the ‘hot entrée of the day’. You can swim with a view in the hillside pool, with glimpses of the bay below. Or you could just take some time out on the lawn which sweeps straight down to the water’s edge (or to the stony beach when the tide’s out), perhaps with one of the freshly baked cookies prepared each day.

Super clean room, welcoming and kind staff and the super chef Nora. She not only prepares pastries and two hot breakfast choices, but as breakfast winds down, she bakes sweet treats to nourish weary guests returning from Acadia and other adventures. This is a good hotel with great heart. Other trips to Bar Harbor at other hotels left me cranky about the room rates vs quality of stay. Not Bayview. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Read less

The rooms were comfortable (nice beds) and the views from the balcony were great. Balcony easily accommodated us and two kids playing with some toys, and were child-safe in our estimation. The balcony was also a perfect place to hang while the kids napped (blackout curtains in the rooms!). Sunset from the balcony was also pretty perfect. Breakfast was generously portioned, changed every day and ranged from blueberry pancakes to egg souflee. Great!! Shuttle to town was helpful but we also walked in several times with the stroller. I have only great things to stay and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Bayview! Read less

Breakfast was bountiful, plenty of breakfast pastries, cereals & fruits with also choices of warm breakfast cooked to order daily. Cookies & other sweets & coffee/tea were always available. Although the inn does not have on-site restaurant, they do also offer great tasting appetizers for order everyday 4-8 pm. My room was large with in room refrigerator, microwave, & nice coffee/tea maker. all rooms have a balcony and facing the bay with great sunrise view. I would definitely come back to this inn next time visiting Acadia. Read less

Very glad we made reservations here for a July weekend. The location is convenient, yet just outside of the downtown so that you can escape the crowds and relax while soaking in a gorgeous view. We’re staying here as we speak and it’s a wonderful hidden gem. The staffs over the top friendly and accommodating. Greg shuttled us up to town for dinner then picked us back up after. The rooms overlooking the bay are an awesome view, plus they huge. The cost was a bit higher but worth the money.
