Grand Hotel

Maine, New England

The hotel

Just as you’d picture a New England coastal home, The Grand Hotel has all the gable roofed charm, dove-grey and white exteriors, column-clad porches, and upscale decor that make Maine so instantly recognisable. Perched on Chase Hill, just a stroll from downtown Kennebunkport, this classic retreat may be grand in style, with its own gallery of local artists’ works, but it’s intimate in atmosphere, with just 17 guest rooms to guarantee a homely feel. The home comforts also come in the shape of free WiFi, free parking, and free use of their cruiser bikes, so you can nip down to the shops, cycle off to one of the town’s clam shacks, or head out to explore Kennebunk’s other majestic old homes, once owned by 18th and 19th century captains of industry or shipping.

We stayed for a quick weekend, just for a much needed change of scenery. This hotel was a perfect location. We were able to walk everywhere! The rooms were very comfortable, and our virtual check-in process was painless! The only thing we missed, was a mini fridge to hold drinks, left-overs, etc. Customer service is amazing here!

This is a fantastic boutique hotel right in the heart of Kennebunkport. Fantastic central location to explore from, walking distance to tons of great restaurants. Great service, clean rooms, seamless check in and check out. A great spot for a Kennebunkport getaway!

My husband and I enjoyed our last minute anniversary getaway. The location, beautiful room and the little extras like the bag of goodies for breakfast in the morning was extra special. We look forward to staying at The Grand Hotel in the future.

The Grand Hotel has a terrific location in the village of Kennebunkport. We could easily walk to shops, galleries and a wide variety of places to ear. Because of pandemic precautions we picked up our room key at the front porch. Check in was easy and contactless. Kennebunkport in the off season is a good place to visit if you want to get away from crowds and have access to the beach without lodes of traffic. There is no such thing as cold weather, just the wrong clothing, so bundle up and enjoy Maine. Read less

A hotel with a lot of history. The staff were well trained and very professional in their duties with a "hands on" and efficient General Manager. The food was excellent and our entire stay was most enjoyable.
