Kennebunkport Inn

Maine, New England

The hotel

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in a quintessential New England town, the Kennebunkport Inn fits the bill! Casually elegant with attentive staff, the Inn was once a tea merchant’s mansion and, despite modern updates, captures the appeal of that era perfectly. Stay in the Riverhouse, which is adjacent to the Main Inn or a few steps across Dock Square in their Wharfside Building – both locations are close to a variety of local attractions, restaurants and activities. When you’re not sightseeing, spend a while simply relaxing on the furnished porch or sundeck, soaking up that unique Maine atmosphere. Continental breakfast is complimentary, as for dinner, look no further than The Burleigh, much acclaimed by locals and guests alike.

I can't stress enough how helpful the staff at Kennebunkport Inn were. The daily text messages saved the day on many occasions and made us feel very secure being in a new town. The daily breakfast scones and muffins made their way back to Maryland because they were THAT good! We are also obsessed with Natalie's Orange Juice now, the hunt is real!! The location of Kennebunkport Inn was the perfect girl’s getaway and coming back to the fireplace in our room was the perfect ending to each wonderful night. The staff also assisted us with reservations at the very sought-after, Boathouse Restaurant. For this we are forever grateful as the food was splendid and the ambiance of red lights created the most romantic 'Galantine’s' dinner. Everything about this area is Instagram-worthy! We truly appreciated the extra touches (hand sanitizers, board games, blankets and fireplaces galore) provided for guests in all the main rooms of the lobby level. The hotel decor was beyond what we imagined. Every amenity we possibly needed was provided, including the emergency toothbrush and toothpaste. To cap off our amazing trip we ate dinner at Earth at Hidden Pond. To describe this experience properly, I would need 1000 more words. The food was heavenly, the decor and furniture were beguiling. It exceeded our expectations and left us in awe. Its days later and we are now trying to find it's equivalency in D.C., although we know this search is moot. I can't find enough words to thank you all for the service provided and we will surely return to experience Kennebunkport’s warmer season. We are already recommending it to everyone we know. We wish you all the best and thank you again for making us feel like VIP guests. Read less

The Kennebunk Port Inn still continues to be a adorable and charming spot after all of these years. Beautiful updates making it alluring and cozy. Unfortunately, Covid continues to play a part in discouraging travel as amenities are so few and closed seasonality right now also plays into this. Restaurants and bars closed, very tough trying to find a variety of options during a business stay. It was a bit of a ghost town frankly, but would have been wonderful sans Covid and in a warmer season. Read less
