Meadowmere Resort

Maine, New England

The hotel

Once a simple inn, The Meadowmere Resort has been transformed into an incredible feature-packed retreat – but it’s never lost the cosy Maine charm it began life with. The family owners have kept its warmth and its original indoor pool, while adding treats like an outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a cosy New England pub, and a health club with spa and fitness spaces. Some features are seasonal, but there’s plenty to occupy you all year, with little gathering spots like the library, tea room, TV room, and games room, home to a pool table, air hockey and video games. Although, with all Ogunquit’s charms just a stroll away, including the white sands, fine and casual dining, shopping, and lobster harbour, you may have little time to enjoy the inn’s attractions.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Not what I expected for what I paid! Rented the honeymoon suite and was very disappointed in quality and cleanliness.

Hotel needs to step up their game for the prices they charge. Better cleaning of rooms and common areas. Mattress and pillows were horrible. Paid a lot of money for 3 nights in the honeymoon suite. Room needed some TLC.

We were attending a wedding in Maine for a weekend in July and booked a room at the Meadowmere on Expedia. The hotel contacted me to ask if we could cancel our booking on Expedia and they will rebook directly with the hotel and offer a discount and upgraded room. From the exterior the hotel is nice, our room was a dungeon. We were in the "motel" side of the hotel and our room was under the center stairwell. We couldn't open the curtains because so many people were around, even when we did it felt like we were in a basement. It was so dark and tiny. Clean yes, bed was fairly comfortable but I couldn't stand to be in the room. No outside seating unless we wanted to sit at the base of the staircase. It was awful, surely not an upgrade at all, in my mind more of a downgrade. Pool was ok, super small pool area and literally couldn't get a chair either day when we came back from the beach so we couldn't even enjoy the amenities. And we paid $$$$ for this - would never ever go back or recommend to anyone Read less

Great value and comfort for the location and amenities. It was our first time staying at the Meadowmere. My two children and I made use of all the resort offerings with the exception of the fitness club. The weather during our stay was unpredictable, and so having the options of indoor and outdoor pools was a major consideration in deciding to book this trip. I felt quite safe in the hotel, and allowed my almost 14 year old twins to go to the pool and pub unaccompanied until I arrived. Great family vibe — would definitely stay again! Read less

Room was over priced for its quality. Rug was tattered, bathroom was very small and had a rusted radiator and the AC had a fan with a rhythmic tapping. The front desk was good although I found it hard to hear because of the plexiglass shields. Great restaurant associated with then, Jonathan's.
