Image of the Tripadvisor rating Older property and is showing its age

The location is amazing and the staff is friendly. The property itself is showing its age and requires some renovation investment. Our room had a great view but was a tad shabby and seemed not quite clean during the 4 day visit. The restaurants are quite loud and the food average to good. A taste of Maine as it used to be and worth a try.

We were looking for a new getaway along the Maine coast and we found a beauty. Room to roam; breath taking views of the sea at sunset - like staying on a movie set. It took us away from the everyday grind onto a secluded "island" of relaxation and enjoyment. There were many choices of destination lodgings on site and we chose the "lighthouse."… Read more

Beautiful views of the bay from the top! Worth the time. Worth the investment. Memories for a lifetime. Not a last resort, but a lasting resort! Read less

Wow what a stopover! Very spacious accommodation with a brilliant view across the water. We had our evening meals in the Pilot House one night and Ledges Pub the other. Both meals were excellent. We also had a lovely breakfast both days. All staff were helpful and friendly. We would be well pleased to return here.

The staff are friendly and helpful but this place really needs a shakeup. The room we were given smelled musty and looked like it needed a deep clean. The furniture seemed an odd mix and the decor was very tired and jaded. Edna was helpful in offering us an alternative room which unfortunately was no better. The staff are friendly and helpful but this place really needs a shakeup. The room we were given smelled musty and looked like it needed a deep clean. The furniture seemed an odd mix and the decor was very tired and jaded. Edna was helpful in offering us an alternative room which unfortunately was no better. It seems that this resort would appeal to families who want a summer camp atmosphere - possibly many have been returning for years. A previous reviewer’s description that it feels like the “dirty dancing” film is accurate. The swimming pool is well over due for a refurb. On the positive side the breakfasts were excellent and the bar food we had was quite tasty. We liked the country and western singer in the bar. On the whole though sadly we were pleased to move on.
