Image of the Tripadvisor rating Worst Breakfast Ever

We were part of a tour group staying at this hotel. The only thing that stands out is the horrible breakfast. I can't remember anything else about this hotel other than the cold eggs and lack of breakfast items.

We stayed here as part of a tour of New England. Friendly staff, particularly in the bar, and pleasant, very clean room which was however rather bland. Bright, clean bathroom. All going well until we went for breakfast, where we encountered grumpy waiting staff, and a poor buffet which included the worst (and cold) scrambled eggs ever. Most of our… Read more

All going well until we went for breakfast, where we encountered grumpy waiting staff, and a poor buffet which included the worst (and cold) scrambled eggs ever. Most of our tour were similarly unimpressed to the extent that our tour guide stopped our bus an hour after leaving the hotel in order to buy us donuts and juice! Says it all! Tip for hotel - if you want the business from a high-end tour company please try to put on an edible breakfast and hire pleasant staff to serve it. Read less

Enjoyed our stay here although breakfast service (a buffett) was massively slow one day. We walked the small town and up the mountain a bit but rocking in the chair on the front porch was my favorite part of the stay.

Excellent accommodations. Friendly staff, clean and lovely room. Our room was large and well maintained. We had a “king” bed which was very comfortable. The town of Brunswick, ME is very “New England”

I lived in Boston back in the 70's and my weekend trips brought me all over New England and Montreal and as Arcadia National Park is one of my favorites I would drive up to Maine regularly so I know the area. I wrote about my trip earlier this month to Toronto and Boston and over the weekend I drove up to Maine to have dinner with a friend at Bowdoin and this hotel is right next door. More than 6 weeks before I went to make a reservation and they were booked but had 1 room with 2 queens which is not my idea of a room but I took it because it was all that was available requesting to be put on the wait list for a King Room. All that said, great drive up the coast, great weather and I arrived in Brunswick to find it packed with people not sure what was going on. Checked in with little fanfare and the room while not what I wanted turned out to be OK, I did have problems with the WIFI but worked around it well enough, not ideal but it did not ruin the trip. Restaurant and bar were again packed the whole weekend but the room was quiet and functional. Because of all the people I stayed away from the Front Desk and Lobby and went about my business. My friend and I had one of our meals at the hotel which was nice although because of all the people a little noisy but again my room was quiet. No issues with anything in the room although while some may find it charming I think some major upgrades or refurbishing need to be done before next summer this place could be incredible with a little effort. Lastly, I know it is the only game in town so to speak but the room prices are quite high and this is from someone who stays in NYC and Boston regularly and even so thought this place was expensive.
