We had a wonderful Saturday night getaway in February to the Beauport. We appreciated the off season reasonable rate for a 2 queen bed ocean view with balcony wheelchair accessible room on the 3rd floor. Arrival and parking was easy and free (they have wheelchair accessible spaces up front), and we were checked in by a really friendly man (Mike). Our room was lovely with a view of the ocean. The balcony was sheltered from the wind and with the sunny afternoon, I was able to sit outside in my coat and read my book! in February! The bathroom was huge, and they brought a sturdy and pretty teak bench for the tub so I could shower. We appreciated the tea and fruit bowl in the business center on the 3rd floor. There were chocolates on our bed with a personalized note and then more chocolates at the turn down service. We loved the big fireplace in the lobby. We got a tour of the roof deck pool (closed in the winter, but you can ask a staff member to take you up to check it out). We found the bar area off the lobby to be really loud - loud music and tons of locals hanging out from the time we arrived (3 PM) until late at night. It was not my scene. We could hear voices in our room at night - both form the hallway and others room, and from the deck - the ocean view also means we were over the deck where people came out from the bar and their voices carried right up to our room. We heard that the non-ocean view rooms can be just as noisy as the back of the hotel faces the fisheries - they say the lobster men unload at 3 AM and it can be loud. We loved walking to the local restaurants, and taking a walk by the water, all easily accessible right from the hotel. Honestly, I can't imagine spending time there in the summer. The rates are crazy high, and the hotel felt busy in February. I think in the summer it would feel packed, loud, and not relaxing. I can't imagine how loud the bar level deck would be in the summer. And the roof top deck area didn't look very big. So bottom line, I would definitely come back again off season for the reasonable rates, comfortable room, great views, and friendly service. Read less

There is nothing bad I can say about my stay here. The food was amazing, the views are incredible, and the staff were very nice. I hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the view on the beach with a cocktail.

Given the reviews of others, we opted to give it a try for an overnight vs. some of our usual options for short excursions. It was a very pleasant surprised. The property is very modern with really nice interior touches. The room was very clean and large, complete with a sitting area. The downstairs bar was beautiful with amazing views of the ocean. And they had nice touches throughout the place (free tea and fruit on each floor, turn down service with chocolates on the pillows). It was walking distance to downtown Gloucester and its restaurants and shops. We did have to pay for valet parking, which wasn't detailed clearly, but a relatively modest charge. Walls were very thin as others have mentioned. If you have bad neighbors, it might be tough. The fitness room was very small but functional Read less
