The hotel

Nautical New England at its finest, Beauport Hotel is a snapshot of everything you’d expect from a seaside boutique hotel. If you want to get your bearings before venturing out, the rooftop delivers views of downtown Gloucester, Harbor Cove, Pavilion Beach, Eastern Point Lighthouse, and Stage Fort Park – although you might get distracted by its rooftop pool, hot tub, and bar.

Beauport Gloucester is a gorgeous upscale hotel located in the heart of Gloucester, Ma. It’s located on a popular beach and walking distance to the best restaurants and shops on cape Ann! The gift shop has so many beautiful items and the women that work there are amazing! You will not be disappointed here!

The staff we encountered was super nice (BIG props to Peggy in housekeeping as she was so friendly and nice to talk to - she even brought our son his own kid sized robe to wear while we were there which he thought was the coolest thing ever)! Also loved the L’Occitane bath products. We stayed during the week so it was fairly quiet and we often had the beach to ourselves. If you can get it, the oceanfront balcony room was awesome and so private and nice to have listening to the ocean and just sitting outside. The town and Man at the Wheel is all within short walking distance and you can tell they are working their way to becoming more of a vacation destination. Many great food options. So much history and friendly locals. Rockport is a very short drive and a great visit! We can’t wait to go back! Read less

Went here with high hopes. Beautiful interior lobby. Rooftop pool is full of young children, teenagers with stereo speakers at almost every chaise lounge blasting pop music. Kids jump from pool to hot tub to pool from 8am to 11pm. Tried to go up to rooftop about 10:30pm but was full of teenagers. The sleeping rooms, ie City King have no privacy.… Read more

Kids jump from pool to hot tub to pool from 8am to 11pm. Tried to go up to rooftop about 10:30pm but was full of teenagers. The sleeping rooms, ie City King have no privacy. You can hear everything clearly in adjoining rooms. Roll away beds have spring coils pushing through and come w/a thin blanket. Overall this is a very mediocre hotel with a beautiful interior design. Go here for a drink on the terrace at sunset and leave. Such a disappointment. If you have stayed for work or pleasure in good hotels, stay away from here. Read less

This hotel offers a lot - very comfortable rooms excellent food and access to a nice and relatively private beach (all of course at a price). But to us at least the rooftop pool was a disappointment- crowded and noisy. We could not even find a place to sit much less relax.
