Stayed one night. There were tons of families having birthday parties in their rooms/hallway/ and pool area. Kids without masks running up and down the hall til almost 9- then started up again at 945. Don’t blame the kids- but parents and hotel should have handled it- esp the lack of masks. Had I known it would be this way we wouldn’t have stayed… Read more

This place was way over priced. First thing we had to do was ask for toilet paper.....paint peeling off the wall in the bathroom. I asked for a romantic weekend getaway. 350.00 a night, for the room. 1 person shower and the oversized jacuzzi tub, barely fit me, I’m 5’2” my weight 135 pounds. No way my husband was fitting in there with me or by himself. We rented blue rays to watch and there was no remote in the room for the player. We went down to the front desk, where they couldn’t help up then we selected ride along to watch and needed a 4 digit code to watch it. The spa however was amazing!!! 5 stars for the spa!!!!! The area is also beautiful. Great walks, stores and restaurants. Just find another hotel OR get a cheaper room and at least get a full size shower. Read less

We checked in to the John Carver Inn shortly after 2 PM on August 25. We chose this location because it was convenient to our home and had an indoor pool and good size water slide. It was perfect for what we were looking for - close, convenient and clean. The facility was following all guidelines due to COVIC-19. Pool was closed every day from 1 -2 for cleaning in addition to overnight cleaning. Room was a bit small, but definitely adequate. The absolute best thing I can say is that the lifeguards were outstanding and very attentive to the children in the pool and to cleaning the area in and around the pool. The Tuesday evening lifeguard knew which children were with which adult. My husband had gone to the rest room and I had been standing out on the deck. I walked back into the pool area and the lifeguard tole me my grandson had just come down the slide. Same attentiveness from the Wednesday morning lifeguard. As grandparents, we are super attentive to our grandson, but was beyond impressed by the quality of the lifeguards. Would definitely recommend this facility. Read less

My family and I stayed one night at the John Carver this week, due to the ages of my children we needed two rooms and I decided to pay a little more for two suites. The location of the hotel was ideal but the rooms were very tired, old fashioned, dark and the overall cleanliness was very disappointing. Apart from a half eaten cookie on the floor there were numerous insects throughout both rooms. The bath and shower areas had discoloured and old. There appeared to be too many people in the pool with no social distancing. Coffee makers in both rooms but no cups, pods, etc. Free car parking was a nice surprise. Overall, this hotel is old and dark and the rooms are in desperate need of a refurbishment. Read less
