Unfortunately we booked this hotel on the parade weekend so the hotel took full advantage of jacking up their rates. That would not be so bad but the hotel is similar to a low grade Travelodge, charging Hilton rates. Hard beds, cheap plastic cups and poor quality amenities. That would not be so bad but the hotel is similar to a low grade Travelodge, charging Hilton rates. Hard beds, cheap plastic cups and poor quality amenities. The wallpaper is peeling off, and everything is in need of a major overhaul. Maid service is spotty, I am not sure if they even vacuumed? When we had a problem with the room booking, the lady at the front desk could hardly care less. Sorry, but I will never be staying at this place any time soon. If you are going to double your rates, at least make an effort to give people their money's worth. Read less

The hotel is clean, is a nice quiet place to stay, and has an amazing pool. That's not what gets it 5 stars though. Brian does. If you want knowledgable tips, information and a history lesson from a local- Brian at the front desk was a huge help. Thank you again Brian. Sorry this review took a while.

The John Carver Inn is centrally located with accessibility to the downtown area and Plymouth's Historical Locations. The rooms are updated but this is an older establishment and one needs to be prepared for that type of hotel. I was quite disappointed with the quality of bath towels. It was a busy weekend and prices were quite high.

This is a very good and predictable hotel. We were on a road trip with no reservations, it seemed large enough to probably have availability, and it did. Nice, clean, standard room. Only thing I will say the bed was VERY soft. It didn't seem "worn out" per se, but it was so soft and mushy you struggled to turn over, almost like you were in… Read more

Only thing I will say the bed was VERY soft. It didn't seem "worn out" per se, but it was so soft and mushy you struggled to turn over, almost like you were in quicksand, and we're not large people (I weigh 150 lbs). It was in a great location for seeing the sights on foot, we didn't use the car until we left town. Restaurant was nice for a late breakfast, staff very friendly and helpful. Read less

Lovely hotel with easy access to the historical sites and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again. The hotel must be a popular place for local social events, because there was a large children's birthday party and a 50th class reunion weekend going on at the same time. The parties were nice events, not too loud.
