Christmas Farm Inn & Spa

New Hampshire, New England

The hotel

Kicking off your shoes and curling up with your morning coffee in the rocking chair on the inn’s front porch, as you stare off into views of the Presidential Range or the Plourde family’s flower-stuffed gardens, may just put you at risk of not seeing anything else on your stay at Christmas Farm Inn & Spa. A 15 acre estate with a collection of clapboard buildings painted in traditional New England shades of rust, periwinkle, sage, and pure white, the oldest property dates back to 1778 and houses rooms with festive names like Cupid and Blitzen. After a complimentary country-style breakfast, you could head to the nearby adventure parks, scenic drives, or North Conway outlet shops. Or just enjoy this Jackson inn’s pools, hot tub, pub, dining room, and family attractions like nightly movies.

Awful. Didn’t want to give any rating it was so bad. I’ve stayed in better places backpacking round south east Asia 25 years ago. Air con moved, and no attempt to repair mess left behind on the wall. Awful. Didn’t want to give any rating it was so bad. I’ve stayed in better places backpacking round south east Asia 25 years ago. Air con moved, and no attempt to repair mess left behind on the wall. Hole on one side just stuffed with wadding. Horrible faded white, now yellowed grey, polyester sheets ( top one may have already been slept in and used as a bottom one). Sheets very creased, small thin pillows. No headboard on the single beds. Bedspreads very tatty with several holes. Heating system falling apart and covered in coffee stains. Carpets poorly fitted, ended at weird places and all different patterns. Stairs to the bathroom ( which was at the bottom where the sofa and tv are) were very dangerous with only a small gap between the top step and the bed. Goodness knows how the layout passes health and safety. No light or socket between the two single beds so fumbling around in the dark to find the stairs. Really dangerous. Large, red plastic swing bin between the tv and the fridge. No idea why. “Wardrobe” ( void under the eaves) doors fell off after 5 minutes because no runner at the bottom. Screen door was on the inside and poorly fitted- big gap at the top so it wouldn’t keep out flies. No idea why it is on the inside. Whole place was dark and dingy. Looked like it had been furnished with random stuff from a yard sale. Just horrible. Sofa was pretty new but it was the only piece of furniture that looked clean and tidy. Bathroom was old fashioned but it was clean and just about ok. Other rooms at the Inn may be fine. This one most definitely is not. Do not stay in no 3 in the barn. We did one night because we had no choice and then moved. Would love to know how the owners think this is acceptable. We were given an excuse as “ we are a country inn”. Appreciate people may want a more rustic experience but this place was terrible. We also stayed in the barn at the Inn at Manchester in Vermont. Please check out their website to see what a country inn can be like. It was lovely. Read less

My wife and I are celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary this week and we returned to the dining experience at Christmas Farm Inn. We were greeted by Steve our Maite De and the receptionist. We were made to feel welcome. We requested a booth and Steve seated us at the "best" table (a booth) in the house. We were served the most delicious meal by Joshua our waiter. For you art lovers there were Thomas Nast prints over each booth in line with the "Christmas" theme. The whole experience was very romantic and we plan to return. Thanks to the chef, staff and owners of Christmas Farm Inn for making this meal a wonder-filled dining experience. Marc and Sharon Frigon Read less

After dinner it was pouring rain outside, we asked for an umbrella and get as answer don’t have. Good to know when you have to walk from your place to have dinner. We ask for water in the room and get back it wasn’t the policy to set it. Very strange on previous places it was always available. I hope it improves.

While at the Inn we decided to visit the Fryeburg Fair and asked at the front desk for directions and Sam the lovely lady working the desk gave us spot-on directions. She gave us directions the “locals” use and true to her word saved us time from sitting in a long line of traffic - Thank You Sam! We had dinner and breakfast both days in the dining room which was all excellent. Our room in the carriage house was very clean and comfortable as was the pool. We will definitely be back again!
