Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel

New Hampshire, New England

The hotel

If you like messing about on the water, this is the Portsmouth pad for you (and not just because of the heated pool inside). Just a stroll from Picataqua River, it’s an easy walk to the docks for the city’s harbour cruises – and you get glimpses of the water as you amble around the property. Some of the best views are from the casual but creative Two-Fifty Market – tucked away under the sweeping staircase of Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel, it’s a contemporary setting for classic dishes and New England favourites, including those ‘must tries’: lobster rolls and clam chowder (although it’s the harbour views that steal the show as you dine). The waterfront location also puts you close to Market Square, which throws you into coastal New England life, and to sights like Strawbery Banke Museum and historic Moffatt-Ladd House.

What a lovely, super friendly, and polite banquet server Christine with stunning eyes! I was impressed with her care making sure I had everything I needed and her smile every time she stopped by to check on me and my colleagues. Great Job Sheraton! She is a keeper!!!

Company had annual meeting here and got to enjoy the hotel. The location is great, within walking distance of all downtown. Meeting rooms and food were good. Hotel is clean, rooms are quiet, beds are comfortable. Best part of hotel is Gym, which has everything you could want including an upright indoor cycle which is a rarity in hotels. Would… Read more

Ok hotel. We thought it would be nicer with the Sheraton name attached. Booked last minute to explore Portsmouth and Kittery Maine. Hotel is perfect to walk around 4-5 blocks over for great pubs, bars and restaurants. And there is plenty to do and see. Hotel bar was nice and bartender Chris was super nice with advice on local sights. King bed room was just ok. Bathroom only had one light over the sink. Nothing near the shower. Very odd setup. Pool is in the lower level of the hotel. Just a room with a pool. No hot tub. Gym looked brand new. BIG downfall is $25 a day to park across the street. That is just crazy to charge. We already paid enough for the room and parking is not included. That was disappointing. Read less

Stayed for 2 nights with the wife for a getaway. We stayed in the 1 bedroom queen condo. We booked this room because of the balcony but when we arrived the room had no balcony. Stayed for 2 nights with the wife for a getaway. We stayed in the 1 bedroom queen condo. We booked this room because of the balcony but when we arrived the room had no balcony. We spoke with the front desk and things were corrected. Apparently they don't guarantee balconies but I don't understand why they wouldn't have put us there in the first place if it was available. Whatever, they took care of it but we had to wait for them to get it ready. The room was spacious and clean however I was disappointed the couch had a huge tear behind one of the cushions. The queen bed was the smallest queen I've ever stayed in. Water pressure in the shower was a light drizzle. We booked for 2 nights and the wife wanted to take a nap during the day but couldn't as there were workers DIRECTLY outside working on the roof all day. Very annoying. The room also lacked basic things like extra blankets which were provided after we requested them. One of the biggest reasons we booked was the indoor heated pool. Unfortunately they had drained the pool earlier in the week for maintenance and although it was filled back up it hadn't HEATED back up yet and it felt like New England ocean water in April. Location of the hotel is excellent. Staff was courteous. Read less

I was a little concerned because of some of the reviews about this being an “old looking hotel”. Not the case. I had a really nice stay. I stayed in the club level to avoid having a room where there might have been a dog in the past. Glad they restrict rooms so people with allergies don’t have to suffer. The club lounge was real nice and had a great evening of snacks and early breakfast there. If my stay was longer I could have spent more time there. It was a nice setup. They fitness center had the latest equipment which made it a joy to go in the elliptical as they provided many options to view while on it not just blinking lights but TV, or trails etc. Room was nice and had no complaints. Overall can’t wait for my next stay. Read less
