Hotel Vermont

Burlington, Vermont

The hotel

There’s something inherently cool about Hotel Vermont. And its effortlessly quirky edge makes you feel cooler just for staying there. Completely down-to-earth, it takes you back to nature in its dining venues and guestrooms, where oversized wooden headboards, stone tiles and woolly blankets fuse earthy modesty with urban polish. It may have its soul in unspoilt nature, but both feet are firmly in the gadget-packed present, with all the mod cons you’d expect, and plenty you’ve never considered, including Vermont’s fastest WiFi, mobile and tablet charging stations, and Instagram Scavenger Hunts with Vermont treats as prizes. Finishing touches include jazz and trivia nights, farm-to-table dining, a yoga studio, and bedtime stories. And they’ve added extras to guarantee a genuine Vermont experience, including the Beer Concierge’s craft brew tours, a local Activities Coordinator, and hotel bicycles.

This hotel is top notch, well located to downtown, the lake and the University. We walked most everywhere. Room service menu is quality and reasonably priced. Though amenities are difficult to determine from the website they are at least what one would expect from a quality hotel. Parking is in adjoining structure and reasonable. One quirk I… Read more

Though amenities are difficult to determine from the website they are at least what one would expect from a quality hotel. Parking is in adjoining structure and reasonable. One quirk I feel is worth mentioning. The doors to the bathroom and toilet room are hanging doors and translucent glass. The closet is behind the door to the toilet. When we arrived that door was completely open so it took some looking to find the closet, which really is a quite clever design. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Read less

Booked the Mt Philo Suite for a special birthday trip---room actually overlooks rooftop of parking garage. If you look hard enough, you can see the lake view that is advertised. Room overall appears somewhat worn, no turn down service which meant no pillows or blanket for sofa bed (traveling with family of 5). Very expensive option to get… Read more

I loved this place! It's not often that i'm 'charmed' by a hotel. Went to Burlington on business, and this hotel was recommended, so I had no part in choosing it...maybe that was responsible for my very pleasant surprise. As I approached the hotel (which is one street from the Lake) I saw other (chain) hotels that seemed to have good water views and regretted the choice....then I went into the Hotel Vermont, and was immediately relieved. There was something about the whole atmosphere that was so welcoming and comfortable. And i did get a room with a partial view of the Lake. As the other reviews said-- 'green' features, Vermont pottery mugs, a neat little coffee/tea station in the hallway on each floor (and great cheese /lavash and croissants), a yoga room, (I think) bikes to use etc. A fantastic bed. Great shower. It all combined to a wonderful experience and just a great upscale, Vermont vibe. The staff was fantastic. Breakfast was great (blueberry pancakes with of course, maple syrup, yum!). Only stayed for a night but I didn't want to leave!!! Would recommend to anyone... Read less

This is a beautiful hotel with great attention to detail. The location is great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It struck me as a very “adult” hotel. My kids certainly felt comfortable and were welcomed but the lack of a pool gave them little to do when we were back at hotel. The room was very clean and we had a beautiful partial view of… Read more

My kids certainly felt comfortable and were welcomed but the lack of a pool gave them little to do when we were back at hotel. The room was very clean and we had a beautiful partial view of Lake Champlain. It was easy to get in and out of parking garage. The bar was vibrant with friendly staff and delicious drinks! Breakfast service was a bit slow and we had to ask for refills on coffee but the food was absolutely delicious. It was a very pleasant stay! Read less

This was a great hotel ~ comfortable bed, clean room, great restaurants/bar and fabulous location. The staff was as friendly as could be. We enjoyed talking with bartender about Burlington and the VT beers before enjoying a nice dinner in their restaurant Juniper. We would certainly stay here again.
