Manchester VT. is a great place to visit, and this hotel is a great place to stay while visiting. It is only a few years old, so everything is new and functional. The rooms are large and well equipped. Showers in the rooms are large and the water pressure is excellent. There is a nice lobby with a large fireplace which constantly is burning wood. It was a pleasant spot to rest and read. Their restaurant is adjacent to the lobby, and is fairly priced with plenty of selections. The bar is well stocked. There is a large porch with chairs outside, and a patio with a gas fired pit. In the summer there is a pool to enjoy. It is an easy walk to the Orvis flagship and Outlet stores, as well as several restaurants, and the Equinox hotel and golf course. The staff is younger, friendly and quite helpful. Pets are welcome here and they even place a nice dog bed in your room with food and water bowls. Just let them know in advance if you want to bring your companion. Rooms are not cheap, especially at peak times. However, you do get what you pay for here, including coffee and tea in the mornings and a complimentary glass of wine in the late afternoon. They even have a few copies of the New York times in the lobby each day. Read less

Pros: 1. Decor. LOVE THE DECOR! Its the right amount of rustic, charm and luxury. Pros: 1. Decor. LOVE THE DECOR! Its the right amount of rustic, charm and luxury. From the lobby, to the outdoor porch, to the “library” and finally the rooms itself - everything was thoughtfully designed and presented. The standard rooms ARE small BUT tastefully done, cozy, clean and comfortable. 2. Service. Everybody (especially Todd and Jenna) was super friendly and eager to please and help. Every interaction I’ve had with various staff throughout the hotel was very pleasant and courteous. I requested for a DVD player and tea kettle to be sent to the room - and they obliged without hesitation. Wine hour between 5-6pm was much appreciated. Had a pleasant conversation with the GM, John. 3. Dog-friendly. THIS IS WHY WE LOVE KIMPTON. Everybody here LOVES dogs, including the people who stay here. The staff treated my dog with the same level of friendliness and courtesy. All that being said, I have 2 small complaints: 1. $33 daily resort fee (for parking, wifi & gym access) isn’t of much value to guests. I absolutely do NOT mind paying resort fees, as I think sometimes it can provide good value, but not in this case. This is a destination hotel, meaning that every single person who comes here will be driving a car, hence self parking should always be provided, if you want to charge more for valet then i absolutely support that. Basic wifi should always be included in the room rate, if you want to charge more for guests to upgrade to a faster one (e.g. for streaming) then its totally understandable. Lastly, gym access shouldn’t be chargeable, unless amenities such as pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room are provided as well. Just a suggestion to provide more value to guests: daily $15 credit to the Copper Grouse. This will bring more revenue to the restaurant and provide more value to guests so they don’t feel ripped off by the resort fee. 2. Housekeeping service needs to be improved. They do not clean used glasses/mugs (just left it there or took it away and didn’t replace it) and also did not refreshed used toiletries or toilet paper (i had to ask for more to be sent). Ice bucket was not cleaned nor refilled. Bathroom mirror and shower glass wasn’t cleaned/wiped. Toilet bowl wasn’t cleaned. AT ALL DURING OUR 4 DAYS STAY. I’m not sure whether the fact that the all-white housekeeping staff factors into all this but i’ve never been to 5 star hotel where all the things above isn’t cleaned daily. Would i come back? ABSOLUTELY! Overall we had a great staycation and if given the right rates, would definitely come back! Read less

I don't have a single bad thing to say about this hotel. The service was great. The rooms were so nice and clean, but the highlight by far is the restaurant! You must get the breakfast included! We also had dinner. It's amazing!

Wonderful accommodations, great staff, excellent location, very pet friendly, nice afternoon social hour, superb restaurant. Bar prices are a little high. Many rooms have fireplaces. We would recommend the junior suite with the deep soaking, free standing, tub.
