Stayed here recently and took advantage of a 35% off sale the resort was offering. The Stoweflake has a very large piece of property in a nice location. The overall condition of the property is showing its age and you can tell that they cater more to the winter and ski crowd. For example, the parking lot is a mess with many potholes and… Read more

The overall condition of the property is showing its age and you can tell that they cater more to the winter and ski crowd. For example, the parking lot is a mess with many potholes and dirt/gravel. Our room was very nice, clean with a large bathroom. The staff were all very nice. I would definitely stay here again given I could get a similar $ deal. Read less

I was at the Stoweflake Resort earlier this month for a conference. Everyone I encountered from housekeeping to front desk and banquets was super helpful. Food was excellent (banquets) didn't have time to eat in the restaurant. My room was spacious and very comfortable. Convenient Stowe location. I wished I had time to use the spa!

Getting very shabby at this point. The parking lot filled with giant potholes, railings peeling, staircase stone facades falling off, cracks in steps, and Charlie B’s restaurant is a crying shame. Getting very shabby at this point. The parking lot filled with giant potholes, railings peeling, staircase stone facades falling off, cracks in steps, and Charlie B’s restaurant is a crying shame. The chairs are literally beaten down, no springs left, no cushion left, they should be broken apart and used for firewood. I asked the waitress for a chair that wasn’t destroyed and she couldn’t find one. Disgusting wall to wall carpets in the restaurant that make it smell bad. And the conference area...they replaced be carpeting last year and it smells like mold again already. Doesn’t help there is a foundation in the conference area adding water and moisture to a troubled area! They didn’t have the hvac system on so the air was deathly still in the conference /wedding area that guests must pass through to get to one of the wings. The air smelled like new carpet and mold. Rooms don’t have wine bottle openers. Management is replacing the wonderful old terry robes with new cheap robes made of polyester fiber. Which doesn’t absorb water. At all. Not good changes. Also I made note that the pool bar was price gauging. Why is a cheap cab-merlot blend that would be $8 in the restaurant prices at $13 at the pool bar? See pictures for ridiculous potholes when I’m paying $200 a night I expect to park my car on a smooth blacktop. Look it’s a wonderful hotel and it’s our favorite we love staying there but they are so cheap on making much needed repairs. Please - fix the potholes, get new chairs for Charlie B’s and fix the back staircase. And remove the water fountain from the conference area adding water to an already moldy area is counterintuitive. Just rip it out and keep the hvac on to keep that area as dry as possible. Read less

Had a wonderful stay for work at this family-owned resort in Stowe. The service is friendly and personal and my room was fantastic: spacious, very clean, with a gas fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. And a window that opened! One tiny thing is one piece of furniture seemed very worn down. The food is good, the beverage list excellent, and all well-priced. Even with room service you don't feel like you are getting taken advantage of. And the spa facilities are excellent. I have been to spas all over the world and this is on par with most of them. Clean, spacious, and well-priced. And my express manicure was very good. The workout room is so-so; has the basics but is small. Note that you can't walk to that many places from the resort - the actual town of Stowe is a 2 minute drive. It's definitely not a modern, corporate resort experience. It has a down-home vibe that is refreshing after so many corporate resorts. Can't wait to come back in the winter with my kids. Read less

We stayed in one of the pet friendly townhouses which was perfect & certainly large enough & more for our family of 5. The kitchen was a great perk & there were gas fireplaces in both the living room & the master, plus 3 bathrooms! We spent the day on Saturday up at Stowe mountain & the shuttle picked us right up at the resort & the ride was fairly quick & easy. We then enjoyed some apres ski & dinner right at Charlie’s Pub. There is an indoor & outdoor pool & a pretty ample gym. The locker rooms at the pool are so convenient & have everything you need. Read less
