Our stay at this establishment was everything we hoped for, and the accommodations were too notch. In many visits to NYC and having lived here for many years I have never stayed in or had much familiarity with lower Manhattan. Much more of a Midtown and Upper East Side guy. Yet this choice was right on spot. First of all the location is fabulous for walking to lots of locations and convenient to the subway too. Even though in the business district, financial area there was never a time when there wasn't a hustle and bustle of people on the neighborhood streets. There are also convenient groceries, cafes and many restaurants nearby. The place is immaculate, clean and well maintained. It has a contemporary flair and feels very sophisticated and yet homey too. We got a suite on the interior courtyard that initially was a bit off putting as you look right at brick and adjacent windows, but soon that feeling dissipated as it was QUIET, far more important to me and especially in NYC. The living area, kitchen and bedroom/bath were large and well appointed. Everything we needed and it was comfortable. As we were headed abroad we had a good deal of luggage and it all fit fine. We couldn't have asked for more, although a small dining table and chairs would have been nice as there was room for it. The bathroom was great, with a large shower...such a luxury in this City. I've had suites at the old Waldorf Towers, the Pierre, and elsewhere in NYC and none of those bathrooms compared, although this is new too. Service was friendly and very accommodating. We did have a glitch at check in and other than wasted time it all worked out. There is a beautiful upper floor deck and lounge. I highly recommend this place and will gladly return. Read less

I've lived at aka University City for over 1 year and because of the consistency of quality and friendly/like family, but always professional staff I'm signing again. Needed the conference room and to be able to print during a meeting. Everything was set up with paper, pens, water, fresh ink in the printer, paper when I got there. Check-in took… Read more

Needed the conference room and to be able to print during a meeting. Everything was set up with paper, pens, water, fresh ink in the printer, paper when I got there. Check-in took less than 30 seconds and they even had the engineer meet me to connect to the Apple TV and printer before the meeting started. The room as truly like being at home, clean and spacious. The NY Federal Reserve was right there, NY Stock Exchange 2 blocks away and couldn't have asked for a better stay. Two thumbs up to everything here. Read less

The apartment was lovely- very comfortable and spotlessly clean. An added bonus was the lounge on the top floor which provided free coffee and fresh pastries which we had for breakfast every day. This is the best place I have ever stayed in New York City. I would thoroughly recommend it and would definitely return. Read less

After a number of visits and different hotel options in New York the apartment style here at AKA was a real change, loads of space, a proper sized kitchen, relaxing large lounge area and the rest to match. Previous apartment style spaces I've tried in NY had limited kitchen spaces but I could happily have cooked a full dinner for four given how well equipped the space is. Lounge is spacious and a properly comfortable sofa, so much so I almost ended up sleeping on it (by accident!) after a long day but not sure I would have minded too much anyway. Bedroom is a clean minimalist style, that doesn't mean stuff is missing just it's all neatly tucked away including some decent storage space for bags. Little touches like USB charger sockets at the bedside show attention to details that are important to the modern traveller. Bathroom again large, well equipped and well maintained. If I had to find an 'issue' with the place it is the blinds, opening and closing them is a bit of a chore and for the less mobile access to a couple might be a real problem. Having said that they work really well and keep the light out and certainly on the higher floors noise was not an issue. Our new HQ is close by and this has now jumped straight to the top of my list when I next stay. Read less
