The hotel

A little piece of Paris in the middle of Manhattan, Baccarat Hotel is all crystal-coated opulence, with silk-covered walls, chandelier-studded ceilings, and hints of platinum and champagne. Your guestroom pairs crisp white linen with glittering mirrors concealing your TV and a red enamel minibar, while a ‘one touch device’ covers your lighting, climate and entertainment, and connects you to your 24 hour Concierge – it even has a button simply labelled ‘champagne’. More than a pied-à-terre, no luxury’s been omitted: a vintage cherry red Citroën acts as your house car, the 60 foot bar’s terrace overlooks the MoMa, the Riviera-inspired indoor pool features cabanas with over-stuffed daybeds, and the Grand Salon’s central table is dressed with French pastries for breakfast, before the space is transformed for indulgent High Teas, nightly champagne soirees, and fine French dining.

It’s been almost a year since the last time I stayed here. The only thing that has changed is that I’m a year older. From the minute I pulled up in front and was greeted by name till I checked out 4 days later it is by far the best hotel and has the best staff in town. Spa, indoor pool, gym, lounge, bar and the suite I stayed in were perfect. With a little turnover in staff I wasn’t sure if I would have the same experience as in the past. It wasn’t, It was BETTER!! If you can handle the rates I strongly recommend staying there. Read less

Thank you to the team for a wonderful stay - here on business for a few days. The team throughout the hotel is courteous, efficient and diligent- from the doormen, to the reception team as well as the breakfast friendly and fun staff. Congratulations, this is now my new favourite hotel in NYC!

One of my favorite place in NYC but the rule that says that the laptops are forbidden past 04.00pm in the lounge area is the most stupid rule I ever heard ! We used to stay at the Plaza and whilst our experiences there were good, there was nothing outstanding whereas this year, on the recommendation of a friend, we stayed at the Baccarat and we were blown away by their service which, to us, made all of the difference. The Baccarat is not a tourist destination like the Plaza so it has the privacy some of us crave and you wouldn't really know it's there given it's very understated from the street level. Level 2 takes you to the beautifully decorated lobby which is adorned with Baccarat crystal and the very eclectic bar which has an amazing vibe and serves the best Gin & Tonics I have ever tasted in my life (and I HATE g&ts so that's saying something!). The bar has a very New York feel to it and it seems to be frequented by locals and guests alike. The food served is incredible too - try the duck! You won't be disappointed! We stayed in the 2 bedroom Harcourt King Suite and it was lovely. The only improvement could be more closet space as well as having fresh roses in the room as opposed to the artificial ones. These are the only improvement we would make to the hotel as it's flawless otherwise. We would have to make a special mention of Jayki who we absolutely adored chatting to each night and who worked in the lobby bar. She was an absolute delight to deal with and she was so warm and genuine. She is a real asset to your brand, Baccarat!! We also loved dealing with the concierge, Pierre, who was professional but friendly, incredibly helpful, responsive and perhaps the best concierge we have dealt with in New York to date. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the restaurants he recommended were amazing! We will be booking again for later this year and can't wait to get back - I think we may have found our home away from home in New York! Thank you, Baccarat; for the outstanding stay! Read less
