Stayed briefly in the residential section of the Cassa building in a NY summer. 🥵 Located in a very convenient part of Mid Town with groceries, souvenirs, restaurants and entertainment all quite close to the building, and don’t forget the crowds. Our apartment, 28A, was in need of some desperate TLC. We found the layout of the apartment to be completely impractical. Tiny combined kitchenette, lounge and meals area with the television, an afterthought that made the whole room even more impractical. Compared to the adjoining vastly oversized bedroom with miniature en-suite , someone in the design team really stuffed up. 😳. I don’t know how anyone could stay here for any length of time. This apartment desperately deserves new paint, blinds and flooring but more importantly than all of these basic amenities - the air conditioning doesn’t work properly! Can’t simply open all the windows in a modern hi-rise building. Even if you could, the city noise would prevent most human functions. Staff were lovely but this apartment really let the building down 😢 I only hope the hotel accommodation is better. Read less

Rooms might be a bit larger than average NYC, but just a bit, and that doesn't say much. Horribly inadequate lighting to get work done, there's a box for a fridge but you'll find the actual appliance in the closet - still welcome and almost a must for me. Décor is modern melamine mixed with mid-century 'teak' and tufted leather - it's a look. … Read more

Horribly inadequate lighting to get work done, there's a box for a fridge but you'll find the actual appliance in the closet - still welcome and almost a must for me. Décor is modern melamine mixed with mid-century 'teak' and tufted leather - it's a look. The bed is comfortable (low, if that's an issue). Shower is decent, towels are not. There's a bag of nuts (nice) and two robes (superfluous - who hangs around in a closet sized room?). Lobby basically isn't and the desk clerks are preoccupied with their own perceived hipness. This was a well discounted stay, so priced about right: but at standard rates, sigh. Welcome to midtown. Read less

Booked a room 4 months in advance on booking.com. 4 weeks before we were due to stay, Cassa hotel cancelled the room as they 'could not honour' the room rate which i booked. Outrageous. Called booking.com, it was the hotel who cancelled it, not the booking company. Obviously reselling the rooms to make more money. I wouldnt risk this hotel,… Read more

The stay in the Cassa Hotel was great. The location is unbeatable, right at Times Square but far enough to be quiet. The staff is super friendly and does make your stay a memorable experience. We will come back.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Charmless. Definitely not a 4 Star hotel

I would not be so harsh if this hotel didn't bill itself as a four star property. THere is nothing four star about this totally charmless, rather sad hotel. Despite its proximity to Times Square, the rooms are generic, the lobby devoid of personality, the reception sloppy. Think three steps below a Hilton Garden Inn. No mini bar, no room service,… Read more

Despite its proximity to Times Square, the rooms are generic, the lobby devoid of personality, the reception sloppy. Think three steps below a Hilton Garden Inn. No mini bar, no room service, no coffee in the room. In other words, a two star hotel that sells itself as four. For the price, totally, totally not worth it. The only saving grace is the restaurant, Butter. Read less
