We chose this hotel to celebrate a special anniversary. I chose this hotel due to recommendations from friends on a travel board that I am a moderator. I reached to General Manager Hotter in advance to ask about any complimentary Diamond upgrade with no expectation. When arriving at hotel, not only was no upgrade available but we were put in a handicap accessible room. I indicated that we did not want this room and certainly did not want to take from someone who might need room during our visit. I was told there were no other rooms available. There were a number of service shortfalls on this trip. 1. Diamond bottled water not provided at check in - told to get next morning... but was refused water next morning. Told we should have gotten it at check in. 2. Four out of five days... Diet Coke machine had no carbonation. After I tasted each time, servers did get bottles of soda from pantry. 3. As for Diamond late checkout day before leaving, told I had to wait until the morning of to even request it. That is difficult as I wanted to plan some activities before late night flight. 4. Room not properly cleaned and restocked each day. I did receive texts asking for a rating and feedback early on. I let them know of issues but heard nothing back from staff. On the positive side: Alexandria was a breath of fresh air at the front desk. She apologized for not being able to give us a better room, the lack of water and late check out problems. This hotel is perfectly situated for a Times Square visit. Room larger than expected... probably due to being an accessible room. Convenient access to restaurants and activities. I did complete the hotel survey. Mr. Hotter’s office (at least they used his name) did reach out and ask for specific feedback as they wanted to arrange for a special return visit for me. It has now been almost six weeks and four emails from me asking for an update but I have heard nothing back whatsoever. That is very disappointing. Read less

Overall a great property that deserves your business. Extremely competitive hotel that is up against a lot of other hotels within blocks. Pros: Location! Overall a great property that deserves your business. Extremely competitive hotel that is up against a lot of other hotels within blocks. Pros: Location! Near the subway, bus, Times Square, the Empire State Building ,and MSG. Construction: Inconvenient now but their lobby should be really sharp when finished. Room: A bit small but otherwise flawless. Everything in working order. The shower got hot quickly which is always a huge plus. Everything was super clean. Staff: Always friendly and efficient. Check in was under 5 minutes. Cons: Room: a bit small, but hey, welcome to NYC. You may have to get creative with luggage placement given the limited floor space. Rooftop Lounge: I was expecting a relaxing drink but found a DJ playing loud dance music instead. I hope it’s not that way all time. Spectacular views of midtown in all directions. Read less

Very small and cramped rooms. The staff claimed they are all the same, but thanks to the maintenance guy I talked to earlier, I knew they weren't. Managed to get moved after a brief discussion, but they weren't very responsive and even the new "largest" room wasn't large at all, just a bit more appropriate. Managed to get moved after a brief discussion, but they weren't very responsive and even the new "largest" room wasn't large at all, just a bit more appropriate. The room itself has outdated furniture and has zero views. Bathroom is flooding itself and the corridor. On top of that is has a nasty drape instead of just a glass door. There's always a wait for the elevators. But this is somewhat expected in NY. Breakfast is expensive and is just average. Location is very good, and this is the only reason I'm leaving 3 stars and not 2. 10 minute walk from Times Sq. Read less

Three great things about this hotel, is the rooftop bar, the friendly helpful staff, and the lovely comfortable beds, apart from that it was a disappointment. The room was so small that we had to leave our coats on the floor as there was exactly 22 inches of hanging space for 2 people for a week, and nowhere to put coats. There was enough coffee for 1 cup each a day, with 1 milk and no stirrers, so we had to use the hotel pen (or the arm of my sunglasses to stir). And when I said 'cup' I mean cardboard cups. The cupboard door was broken and hanging on by 1 hinge. The bathroom door was peeling away from its backing, and the safety handle in the bathroom was loose. We were in a room next to the lift shaft, so until the early hours of the morning you could constantly hear a 'ding' sound as the lift arrived, and then listen to the conversations of the people leaving. We were told that breakfast was served at 6am daily, so on our last day before our taxi arrived at 8am, we went to the restaurant at 6.55am to be told by a surly woman 'we don't open til 7am, but we won't be ready by then anyway, so go away and come back later'. We did, however, manage to have time for breakfast, which was good, and plenty of choice. This is an honest review, but as I said earlier, the staff are all excellent, very approachable and very helpful (apart from the woman in the restaurant that morning). Read less

The guest room is overal very good, but there are some issues in the room, for example, little free space, cumbersome shower door, maintenance failures (the safety bar in the shower was loose in the upper end).
