We stayed at Affina Fifty from August 14, 2019 to August 18, 2019. I would like to thank everyone who works there for making our stay with you extra special. Special thanks to the following: Teela Nakashian who was very helpful and supportive when arranging this trip . We needed special accommodations because we were traveling with my disabled dad. Teela made sure all accommodations necessary for him were all in place before our arrival. I will agree with another review: "Jasmine is the front desk Goddess" . Jasmine made sure the check in process went smoothly. She really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant and memorable. Kristy at the front desk was also very helpful. Thank You Rita from housekeeping!!!!! She kept our suite impeccably clean and was very helpful. Thanks to the bellman -- Rome, Samuel, Lenny, Marco ( I hope I am not forgetting any of them) They were all so kind. They went above and beyond to help us in anyway that they could. We had a little problem with the A/C and the front desk manager --- Franz?? on Sunday morning did his best to make thing right. Congratulations Mr. Gehlich ! You and your team made this family trip awesome. I don't have enough words to describe how grateful we are. You and the amazing team you have assembled are " #1. " Millions of Thank You's !!! I forward to seeing you soon. Barbara Bove and Jeffrey Ulness NYC #nowords #grateful Read less

First I had to deal with a loud and annoying noise coming from the kitchen for a whole week, non-stop. Although I complained from the first day it took me three complains to get someone attention and move me to another room after a whole week! The new room was nicer but no AC in the bedroom. I complained about it but none did anything and I have to sleep a whole week without AC in August... not very pleasant. Read less

My husband and 2 teenagers stayed here for 3 nights in a room with 2 queen beds. The location is great and overall, the staff is very friendly, especially the doormen. We had a very early flight the day we arrived and unfortunately were not able to get into our room until 4:00 (even though we were told they would try and get us in earlier). The room was decent size considering we were in NYC but not any bigger than a standard hotel room. The beds were comfortable and there was a coffee maker available. The bathroom really was in poor shape. It was very old and worn out plus the vent and the light in the shower were disgustingly dirty. It reminded me of a bathroom in a dorm room. The walls were covered in old, dirty wallpaper and the tile in the shower was coming apart. I was also surprised at the lack of attention by the housekeeping staff. We were left coffee packets the first day when we checked in but not any of the other days when our room was cleaned. Also, I had to call down for toilet paper because we were left with a tiny roll and no spare. The other thing about the room was that it was very noisy and there was no way to control the temperature. The thermostat consistently said 66 degrees but it was always very warm in there. It was noisy because the windows weren't sealed properly. My husband discovered that they could be opened which is pretty dangerous if you have little kids. There is a common area on the second floor with seating and tv's to watch plus they have coffee in the morning available and wine from 5-6 every day which is nice. Another example of the way the housekeeping staff operates...one morning we went in to get a cup of coffee while we were waiting for our teenagers to get up and the woman working the buffet breakfast was walking in front of us. There was a cheerio on the floor and instead of picking it up, she kicked it under the closest couch. The doormen were always very helpful and held our luggage for us because we had a late flight. As long as your expectations aren't too high and you don't pay too much for a room, it's a decent place in a good location. Read less

The staff at the property are highly attentative and will do what ever they can to cater for the needs of your party as best they can. We was shocked as we entered the room to see how spacious they are and I can say it is the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in without a doubt in New York and some other cities across the US. The rooms are cleaned to a very high standard with bedding changed daily. There is also a communal area on the 2nd floor which gives you a chance to socialise with other guests with access to wine between 5pm and 6pm and the chance to grab a cup of tea or coffee throughout the day. J.F.K Airport is around a fifty minute drive from the property or around 25 without traffic. I would defiantly stay here again upon my next visit to the city. Read less
