Rooms could go through a bit of renovation as they are slightly outdated. Would look a lot better modernized. Originally chose this hotel for the view but realized being that far downtown was a hassle to get to when you are spending all day in uptown/midtown/brooklyn

I have spent the last 3 years traveling extensively for work, averaging 120 nights in hotels each year. The vast majority of stays have been at Hilton properties. This one fell far short of expectations. DO NOT book during cooler or cold months - your room will be a sauna. Upon entering our room in Jan, it was 77 degrees. I dialed down the thermostat to 65 and left for the remainder of the day. Upon returning, the room was still 77 degrees. I called guest services and they nonchalantly explained that they have an old style HVAC system and either heats or cools, but not both. The AC was turned off until springtime. “Just open the window” was the solution given. While this did cool the room, it also brought every car horn, siren, tire screech and other NYC noise with it. A number of reviews mention the dismissive staff. I agree. Their haughty attitude in a less than impressive hotel is laughable. I won’t be back. Read less

As a Hilton Honors member, I was once again WOW'd by the service and quality of the hotel. I stayed on the 22nd floor with an amazing view of the river and other great attractions. The subway is 5 steps from the front door so getting around is easy and convenient.

We stayed at the Millennium Hilton in downtown NY for 4 nights in early Jan visiting from Australia. The hotel itself was fine, service was friendly, and the bed was comfortable - always slept well :) We stayed in a King City View room and our request for a nice view was accommodated as we were placed on the 52nd floor. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we did enjoy a couple of drinks in the bar one night and found the service great. The concierge and gentlemen working at the entrance were very helpful with storing our luggage and arranging transport to the airport. We read some comments about the hotel looking a little dated and these are probably fair, but this was only a minor thing for us. Best thing about this hotel is it’s location. The yellow subway lines are literally right outside the entrance, and you could access the red, green, and blue lines within a block. Most of these lines would take you to Times Square, or midtown Manhattan within about 15 minutes. We caught the subway everywhere and found it easy and safe. The 9/11 memorial and museum are just across the road too which is a must-see in NY. Overall we were very happy with our stay. The cost was very low and the room was big compared to what was on offer in midtown Manhattan. We will back the next time we are in NY for sure! Read less

I stayed 3 nights on business. As this is a proper Hilton, not one of their lower priced chains, my expectation was that I would be comfortable. No such luck. The room was too hot the entire time. I stayed 3 nights on business. As this is a proper Hilton, not one of their lower priced chains, my expectation was that I would be comfortable. No such luck. The room was too hot the entire time. I stripped off the feather duvet as soon as I got into the room, but even with a sheet and blanket it was uncomfortably warm. I asked for assistance at the front desk and was told “someone would look into it”, which they didn’t do. I asked again and was told they would open my window. This was done, but was useless since the window design isn’t meant to improve airflow (and didn’t, even on the upper levels). So the rude, dismissive attitude, coupled with misinformation and disinformation, of the front desk staff made me happy not to be in the hotel much. But when all you really want from a hotel is a good night’s sleep, this isn’t the place. Will more carefully read reviews next time and will skip any hotel that smacks of the issues with this one.
