Be very careful before you choose this hotel! They are very dishonest in their booking. We booked a special suite for my daughters wedding to get ready in. We spent hours clearing with reservations the type of room we needed and required for photos hair and makeup for bridal party. When we arrived they had given our room away to someone else and put us in an inferior room. The room was a nightmare. Run down, scratch counters dresses and sink. Low level counters little space and did not have adequate closets to hang up the gowns. And all they said was it’s all we have. Most of the staff was rude and indifferent. It was a total disgrace. My daughter was in tears and it caused total stress the night before her wedding. I then had tried to call customer service and was put on hold for 25 minutes on hold only to be disconnected. It shows thru all the mergers Hilton is going down hill. As a Hilton honors member, it is the Last time we reserve at any of your hotels. I am very disappointed and upset I trusted your hotel. Never again. Read less

I selected this hotel specifically because of its proximity to the One World Trade Center, the former World Trade Center towers plaza, the Oculus, and St. Paul's Chapel. In addition, because it is in the Financial District, rather than Times Square, the crowds are less, and there was no street noise at night. In addition, there was great shopping at Century 21, Brookfield Place, Westfield, as well as a CVS, grocery at 55 Fulton Market, and a variety of restaurants -- all within short walking distance of the hotel. There is a subway entrance (Cortlandt) right at the sidewalk, but you can also get the subway at the Oculus across the street, or Fulton Street station on the opposite corner, and the World Trade Center station. We easily walked to all of the attractions in the area, and then we hopped on the subway to visit the Theater District and sites Uptown. The staff at this Hilton was super friendly and welcoming. The housekeeping service was consistently good. They have a coffee maker which makes two cups at a time, a full sized hair dryer, no microwave, and a refrigerator (but very little room to store personal items because it was stocked with items for purchase). There was a safe in the room and even a full-sized umbrella (they thought of everything!). We didn't spend money on the refreshments on hand in the room because you could buy anything in the world for snacks at the CVS just a couple of blocks up the street. There were always taxis on the side entrance and the staff will hail them for you with no waiting time at all. I can't say enough great things about the hotel. The views are amazing. We had a King Room on the 52nd floor facing the Hudson River and One World Trade Center, and the sunsets were wonderful. This is a super comfortable hotel (wonderful bedding) and so quiet and nice. We didn't use the indoor pool or gym but both looked great. We also didn't eat at their restaurant but only because of the choices all around the hotel. What a great experience! Thanks Hilton! The hotel has a great location. It is very close to the WTC and numerous subway lines/stations - perfect for getting around the city. The fitness center has new or fairly new equipment and the heated pool was great for doing laps. There is a shower room with lockers if you want one (bring your own lock). A Starbucks is right next to the hotel if you don't want to drink the room coffee. Our room had a very good view as we were in a corner room and it had plenty of drawers so we could unpack our suitcases. The TV's were large and there was a good selection of channels and good reception on all the channels. However the room showed its age. The carpet was a bit worn and the wallpaper has started to peel away from the wall next to the tub most likely due to water from the shower. Couldn't use the power outlets on the desk as plugs didn't make good enough contact to provide power and the plug would readily fall off the outlet. There was an extension cord next to the desk that worked. The king bed was very comfortable and there were reading lights on either side. There was only 1 other light in the room and the light switch you would think turned on the bedroom light(s) didn't do anything. Had to use the light above the closet when entering the room at night. Two lights were burned out when we arrived but they were fixed right away after we mentioned it to the front desk. (You would think items that need fixing would be reported when the room is cleaned.) One thing I notice that most people won't is the accumulation of dust/lint around the bed/headboard and behind the night stands. (I'm an entomologist and I always check every room I stay in for bedbugs) This isn't particular to this hotel (almost every hotel I've stayed in has this accumulation) but it does show the hotel doesn't do a regular and periodic through cleaning of their rooms. (This is also true of most peoples homes.) I would stay here again but I will be looking at less expensive hotels. Read less

First, the hotel is located near some great restaurants, shopping, and access to the subway system. Also, you are right next to the WTC Memorial and Oculus. The higher the floor the better the view for the city. We have stayed at several Hilton properties in New York City in the past and thought we would try this based on the location and rating. We will not stay at this hotel again. Our room was outdated and the walls to the rooms must be thin because you can hear other guests conversations. When I approached the front desk to ask about the noise, I was told all the rooms are the same and noise will be an issue even if I moved rooms. Definitely not what I expected from this Hilton property. Read less
