We booked a one night getaway just yesterday for a room with a terrace for tonight. The plan was just to sit outside and bring in a nice dinner and enjoy a bottle of wine. Just a change of scenery with this stay at home order. We have had problems with this hotel in the past- even ruined a birthday. But it was one of the hotels we were familiar with that was still taking reservations. When we booked yesterday we received a confirmation right away and another email today with amenities and such. We are one hour from NYC so we hopped in our car about 3:00 and headed in. Upon arrival we found the doors barred shut with a wood pole. NO sign, NO person. Nothing. A homeless person walking by let us know it was closed. We had already placed an order for take out of over $150, paid $13.50 for three hours of parking and drove 100 miles round trip. When I called for an explanation they said they were having trouble with their booking engine which is a lie. They have been accepting reservations all along... we've been looking. When we checked our email there was a cancellation notice at 3PM day of check-in! Absurd. And pretty much their attitude was sorry - but TS. Lovely. Just like always with this hotel. Try the Royalton Park Ave instead. Great rooms and service. Read less

The room was super clean and fully equipped. The view over the city was stunning. We really enjoyed the afternoon “cocktail” in one of the hotels lobby were you could grab any kind of wine or soft drink and enjoy a really nice cheese buffet. Special thank to Xiara for her kind efforts to make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you and looking forward to staying in your hotel again soon Read less

The staff at Hotel 48Lex was excellent! The rooms are very nice with beautiful bathrooms and floor to ceiling windows. The staff were so accommodating. We arrived the day NYC closed restaurants due to Cov-19. Marcelo went above and beyond by providing us with Kashi bars and water.

By far the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay at in New York for over 20 years! Everything - from cleanliness and upkeep of the property - to the kind and helpful staff at the desk and in the lounge - was perfect. Melvin at the front desk was there for our check-in and so patient and professional. The staff in the lounge for breakfast was always there to refill what was low or tend to the guests immediately. they made us feel like we had been here dozens of times and were welcoming us home. The rooms are clean and well maintained. What sets this hotel apart is the lounge on the 2nd floor - breakfast is included so the layout was simple but delicious. The layout of the lounge is like being in your own living room with relaxing music always playing. Never gets too loud or rowdy. Coffee tea and random snacks are always available. There is a wine reception daily from 5-6 which we were able to catch once. Cheese and crackers and some grapes to go with your glass of wine. Overall, I will be making this hotel my home for every future trip and am so happy with our entire experience. I would recommend it for couples, small groups of friends and anyone looking for a boutique experience which is both luxurious and hip at the same time. If you’re looking for a downside - it could be the cost and “resort fee” which catches some visitors by surprise upon their exit. But with the state of other hotels in the city and what you get for your money - it is DEFINITELY worth the extra spend! To the staff at this hotel - thank you for making our anniversary such an amazing and unforgettable experience in the city. Will definitely be back on our next trip. N.A. (Canada) Read less
