Ace Hotel New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

Ace by name, ace by nature, you’re in for a bit of rock ‘n’ roll when you stay at this unique boutique hotel! Indeed, you’ll find a Gibson guitar in most rooms and a stack of blank sheet music should you fancy composing a song or two. Choose between a guest room with fabulous retro furniture included or a loft room, located on the corners of the building with beautiful bay windows, curvy sofas and palatial bathrooms. Take advantage of the lobby’s photobooth for some artful shots. For dining, the Breslin is hip and happening, taking its style cue from the 19th century with distressed leather upholstery and dark wood panelling. The bar looks like a room from a classic Park Avenue apartment and is perfect to lounge with a cocktail before a night on the town. To wake you up in the morning, grab a gourmet coffee from the Stumptown Coffee Roasters Cafe, head out the door and start all over again!

A design hotel at its finest. Beautiful hotel with a look that is completly New York yet welcoming and comfortable. The rooms can be small but if you have every stayed or lived in NYC the rooms can be small... The lobby the pace and the rooms are everything you could ever want from a NYC hotel and then some

I consistently have a great experience when staying at The Ace in general and NY is no exception. A few hiccups this time around though with the elevator continually breaking down during my stay without any communication from the staff, the cleanliness of the room was less than desired and the thermostat had a mind of its own. I’ve been a devoted… Read more

I’ve been a devoted fan of The Ace in many many cities, I think over the years this location has become a bit rundown and I hope to see a renovation/update soon for a future stay. Read less

I stay with you guys two or three times a year, so I was pretty bummed about the bathroom in 620. In fairness the guy who checked me in told me it was a small room and if I wanted to change I could come back down and ask, but it was super late and I was just off a long flight. Still love the hotel, and will come back, but you should reward loyal… Read more

This is a good hotel. We were upgraded to a larger room that was very nice. Staff was very helpful. Some details didn’t work as smoothly. The shower temperature was nearly impossible to regulate and the WiFi was erratic. But, they are a good hotel for sure. We appreciate that shampoo and such didn’t come in small wasteful bottles but a normal big… Read more

We stayed a night at The Ace for a quick weekend away in the city. The location is great near 5th Avenue and 29th, parking garage is a quick walk away. Walking in, despite the low light, there’s an ambiance of warmth and community - always a large crowd sharing the Wifi in the central lounge area open to the lobby bar. The staff is friendly and helpful. I thought I had a problem with my bill when I got home, so I emailed the contact who responded quickly and nicely explaining my error. The feel of the hotel is very industrial yet welcoming, not cold. The room furnishings are interesting with lots of metal and wood. The bathrooms are full of subway tile. I guess my only complaint would be the shower. Although it looks really cool positioned in the middle of the bathroom, it was very hard to maneuver inside without water getting out and everywhere because the shower diameter is so small, at least it was in our room. Overall, it was a great experience. We’ll be back! Read less
