Ace Hotel New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

Ace by name, ace by nature, you’re in for a bit of rock ‘n’ roll when you stay at this unique boutique hotel! Indeed, you’ll find a Gibson guitar in most rooms and a stack of blank sheet music should you fancy composing a song or two. Choose between a guest room with fabulous retro furniture included or a loft room, located on the corners of the building with beautiful bay windows, curvy sofas and palatial bathrooms. Take advantage of the lobby’s photobooth for some artful shots. For dining, the Breslin is hip and happening, taking its style cue from the 19th century with distressed leather upholstery and dark wood panelling. The bar looks like a room from a classic Park Avenue apartment and is perfect to lounge with a cocktail before a night on the town. To wake you up in the morning, grab a gourmet coffee from the Stumptown Coffee Roasters Cafe, head out the door and start all over again!

Overall, your hotel has a great aesthetic taste - very hipster...very New York. I didn't have high expectations so with that, the room was great, the staff were nice and helpful and the coffee shop and hotel bar were amazing. What I didn't expect was to have very little sleep due to the noise from the street and construction. However with it being… Read more

What I didn't expect was to have very little sleep due to the noise from the street and construction. However with it being a city - I gave it a pass because it is totally out of your control. I would recommend this place to others and if you are asking yourself why I didn't give you five stars because it will help you to stay nimble and I am a jerk that way. :) Read less

I had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean, quiet and well appointed. I appreciate the design renovation and how the hotel management is interested in maintaining the historical integrity of the building as much as possible. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I will recommend the hotel and look forward to visiting again.

The lobby recently got a revamp and it's cold and empty now. Gone are the happening crowds and gone is the laptop friendly policy of old. I was told no laptops at the (now empty) big back bar. The new couch arrangements are not as social, and seemingly no laptops are permitted except for the communal table. I recommend another of New York's… Read more

The Ace Hotel is my go-to for business trips. It is quiet every night and the rooms are very clean. Each visit I know more and more exactly what to expect and it just makes my crazy work-life so much easier to have a reliable hotel. The employees seem to like working there - that makes me happy and relaxed.
