This was our first time using an apartment rather than a quality hotel. Location was superb between 6th Avenue and Times Square but we were never bothered by noise issues. The friendly 24hour reception staff were on hand to answer any questions. Our deluxe suite was really well appointed with separate bedroom, kitchen area with all the appliances you could need including an excellent fridge freezer ( if you like a cold beer) and a separate good size lounge area. To be honest we did not cook much but it was great to have the flexibility to have breakfast at our leisure rather than fit with hotel time scales. The suite was very clean and we had one housekeeping visit half way through our seven days. Only downside was that we thought the optional grocery package on arrival was not good value, although convenient. Finally it was pleasing that they agreed to a later checkout at no extra cost. Would certainly consider AKA again. Read less

This place is perfect to visit Manhattan as it's close to everything from Central Park to Chelsea. The apartment was quiet and clean, service very attentive and lot's of space. Recommended if you travel with family.

We loved our stay in NYC at AKA. The apartments was larger than we expected and very fresh & clean. The washer/dryer was appreciated for our long stay. Great location at Times Square, staff very friendly and always there to help when needed.

This was our third visit to New York and we opted for an apartment style hotel to provide us with a little more time and space to relax. We were also planning a multi-centre holiday so we wanted an apartment with a washer-dryer so that we could take fewer clothes and wash them before we left New York. We flew into Newark and got the train to Penn Station and the hotel is a 15min or so walk (depending on crowds and road crossings). The reception area is minimalist but the team were helpful when we needed them. Our room was on the 6 floor: the lifts worked well, if a little dark? We were able to check into our room immediately. We chose a one-bedroom apartment. The room had a very comfortable double bed with a wardrobe, TV and safe. A walk-in shower room with a toilet and sink: this room also had the washer/dryer. The lounge area had a large sofa, chair, coffee table, TV & table for two. The kitchen had a dishwasher, hob, large fridge-freezer and microwave. (Strangely no electric kettle). The kitchen had ample cooking utensils for simple meals. We had housekeeping on our third day so this may or may not be a problem for you. There was ample dishwasher tabs/washing powder and cleaning cloths. There was also a range of toiletries & plenty of clean towels. The hotel has a public lounge on the top of the building. Unfortunately the terrace was closed so we did not go outside. The lounge has complimentary tea and coffee in the mornings which we did use. The area was a little soulless however, which was a shame as I've stayed in some apartment hotels where the lounge area has been quite vibrant. We got our food shopping from the nearby Wholefoods supermarket. All in all it was a very relaxing stay. It was a very location despite the noise from Times Square. I'd stay here over a hotel anytime. Read less

Not a place to stay when being "home" during the day. Fairly small bathrooms for overall rented area. Apartments in the back have shades down whole time or if you open them you have view of neighboring apartments near. Housekeeping has much to improve. Spotty service/cleaning, clean towels are put on used sofa not on clean bed. Front desk friendly… Read more
