Baccarat Hotel and Residences New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A little piece of Paris in the middle of Manhattan, Baccarat Hotel is all crystal-coated opulence, with silk-covered walls, chandelier-studded ceilings, and hints of platinum and champagne. Your guestroom pairs crisp white linen with glittering mirrors concealing your TV and a red enamel minibar, while a ‘one touch device’ covers your lighting, climate and entertainment, and connects you to your 24 hour Concierge – it even has a button simply labelled ‘champagne’. More than a pied-à-terre, no luxury’s been omitted: a vintage cherry red Citroën acts as your house car, the 60 foot bar’s terrace overlooks the MoMa, the Riviera-inspired indoor pool features cabanas with over-stuffed daybeds, and the Grand Salon’s central table is dressed with French pastries for breakfast, before the space is transformed for indulgent High Teas, nightly champagne soirees, and fine French dining.

As usual I made a last minute reservation to celebrate our anniversary during these trying times. We live in the suburbs now so it was nice to be in the City even though its weird that the hustle and bustle is missing. Its easy to miss this hotel if you are not paying attention but the bellman are very helpful in getting you in the door. The hotel has an arrangment with a lot about 3-4 blocks away for reasonable parking rates ($39 per day). The reception area is on the second floor and they were ready fo us so no wait at all for our early check-in (thank you American Express). The room was a tad larger than the boutique style that appears to be so prevalent in the city. The shower was a great size and the large shower head fantastic. There is decent closet space and a large table to eat or do work if you so choose. The location is great with a lot in walking distance to eat and drink. I was pleased with both the service and cleanliness. They had a few masks and hand sanitizer in the room. Read less

Hotel is closed, cancellation has been made by Baccarat itself, but the deposit is still not refunded. Also every mail to the hotel is simply not answered. This was already the case with inquiries before the actual arrival: The service of the hotel is really bad !

I stayed at the Baccarat this week and truly had a wonderful stay! The hotel is gorgeous, very clean, discreetly positioned and feels very European. You don’t feel like you are in NYC! While there is an overwhelming choice of top end luxury hotels in the city, I feel this hotel is the #1 choice, and I am a Front Desk Agent at a 5 star hotel here in New York, but still quite Biased towards this hotel. The service is amazing- from the very warm greeting by Abou at the front door, to the entire reception team who is unfailingly gracious and polite, to the lovely servers and hostess in the Grand Salon (Wilmer; thank you, you are lovely!), to the very friendly In room dining servers, and utterly lovely room attendants who always said hello and were the epitome of five star service, they have clearly made a wonderful team here. It’s rare to see service this good, even at the 5 star level, in New York hotels. Thank you Candice Rowe from the sales team for your kindness and assistance with my booking. Thank you Jennifer Varquez for a lovely check in. My room, 1205, was lovely. A classic king room with a gorgeous strong shower, amazing bath products that smelled heavenly and very quiet with a heavenly king bed. I loved the long wooden table perfect for enjoying in room dining. The beautiful wooden floors were gorgeous. The turndown service was spectacular. Delicious macarons are left, as well as Evian, ice, lovely opera music, the best slippers, and the curtains drawn. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Drinks were amazing. Wonderful room service breakfast- perfect fried eggs, beautiful desserts, everything was delicious. They have the most exquisite grilled cheese in the grand salon. This is a special place. From the twinkling light displaying in the ground floor, to the subtle scent, the roses, and the air of privacy and quiet, this hotel is magical. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! I loved it.
