Not a fan of this hotel, the wait for the elevator is ridiculous. I had a room on the 9th floor, every morning the the elevators go to the top floor down. By the time they hit my floor there would be no room. I had to start hitting the up button tand get in the elevator and ride it all the way up and then all the way down. Free breakfast is a nightmare. Arrive to a huge line every day with no were to sit. There is probably dining seating for 1/16th of the rooms. I also watched a family pick up and put back three pieces of French toast, no sneeze guards either. I did not partake in the breakfast buffet, if you do take it back to your room and nuke it before you eat it. Don’t use their car service either, quoted one price by the hotel concierges and just like New York you are charged a much higher rate when dropped off. If I remember right it’s called Rosevelt car and limo service. Typical New York bait and switch. Also there are 4-5 drug addicts that sleep on the sidewalk right outside the hotel entrance to the left. They will harass you every time you pass by. Read less

Element was part of the Westin chain which is now Marriott. It is conveniently located on 39th street close to 8th avenue. This is one block down from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which makes the area extremely congested. This has got to be the smallest room we have ever stayed in. Why the room needs a huge home size refrigerator is beyond me. The freezer could hold 5-6 frozen legs of lambs and rib roasts. One side of the bed is so close to the window that when getting out your feet touch the air conditioning unit. On the opposite side of the bed, swing your legs over the side of the bed and open the refrigerator door. I guess convenient for breakfast in bed. The baseboard of the bed sticks out about 2 inches from the mattress so when the sheet covers the bed, you are unware of the baseboard and twice bruised my leg trying to get around the bed to the window. Someone said the rooms were spacious, believe me they are not as I have stayed in 16 different hotels last year and know what spacious is. I will say that we had a standard room, was not given an upgrade as a Platinum Bonvoy Member, there is a slightly, I say slightly larger room right opposite the elevators. Last year we stayed at the Staybridge Suites one block back on 40th, and the rooms were bigger than Element. On the positive side, the location, the breakfast was very good, parking garage was directly opposite the hotel if you are driving, and the staff, all gracious, warm and helpful. We had no problem with the elevators. We will stay elsewhere next time. Read less

This was my second time at the element Times Square. This property is very worn down. My first visit was a room on the 10th floor, second time back I was placed on 27. Both of the rooms I was assigned we’re very worn. Even the elevators are busted, they need TLC.

Yes there are a lot of people staying at this hotel and the elevators get busy but hey your in New York and everywhere is busy! My only complaint would be the pillows in the room that for me where too flat and offers no support, otherwise the breakfast, laundry and gym where a great additions. Time Square is only a few blocks ! Read less
