We arrived at 3 am after a lengthy flight and transport delay. The staff at reception treated us as an inconvenience as they were doing their night audit and we were told we should have called them, even though this was not possible. The room was booked and paid for in advance but apparently our room had been given to someone else. No apology, I was just told that I didn’t understand the bookings when in fact I have travelled all over the world and have never been treated so poorly. I advised the staff, over the loud music, that it was my daughters birthday, she was ill and we were desperate to check in. I was told to wait, no apology, no offer of even a water and then an hour wait to check in. We were told we could have a suite which once we got into, most of the lights weren’t working and there was only one bed. I went back to reception at which point I was told there was a sofa bed. I replied that may be however, there was no linen for the sofa bed. I was then told we would have to separate into two rooms for the night. Horrific experience which once advised to the manager the next day we still had no response. We were advised at lunchtime the next day that our room was ready. The room was clean and well appointed although cramped for three people. We did advise reception that afternoon that one of the toilet buttons was broken and the sink is blocked and the tap loose. None of these were rectified during our stay. It is also convenient to all that New York has to offer - including a rubbish and homeless problem. We agre with all of the other reviewers - the elevators are ridiculously slow! Thank you to Allen on his friendliness, helpful and fantastic recommendations! Read less

I would give this hotel a 10/10 if it hadn’t been for the amount of people and time you spend waiting for the elevator to go down or up. There are so many people staying in this hotel that if you want to have breakfast at a certain hour, you should leave 10 minutes before so that you wait for the elevator. Besides that, everything was wonderful. The staff is absolutely wonderful, both day shift and night shift people are great, friendly and always trying to help you with whatever you need. Also, breakfast was a little crowded too but it was nice, with everything you need to have a nutricional breakfast. Location was perfect, just 3 blocks away from 42st and 8th which is right into the Times Square area with all the lights, stores and restaurants. Just don’t be scared of how many people are right in the corner of the hotel late at night having all kinds of things, you just have to live with it and keep walking. Read less

Staff and room was great! Allen made our trip much more memorable, checking on us when we returned each day. He also had great answers to our questions and suggestions as well. Superb service. Elevators did have some issues at peak times. We would stay here again... and probably will!

Great service, room is quiet and gets cold! We love a cold room. Elevators a bit slow. Good location for sight seeing. Enjoyed the Irish pub next door. Great shower and we used the kitchenette for breakfast and snacking, which came in handing as we working working all day.
