Stayed here middle of June. Got a great price on the room so i cannot complain but staying in many hotels the service level here was just lacking. I know this is a fairfield inn but still. Upon arriving at 10-11 pm we were given a room with one king bed after requesting 2 double beds online. We were told the hotel was completely sold out. Which would have made sense if i didnt look online and see multiple rooms available, with double beds. Even after bringing this up to the front desk, they said we are sold out completely, without even checking the system to see there were rooms available. It was almost like the higher ups told them to just tell everyone they were sold out. Just weird. Not too big of a deal though, we got over it and just slept together. My biggest suggestion for this hotel, is to open the rooftop to YOUR guests, at any time of day. We woke up early to have some coffee and relax on the roof but could not even get up to the roof top because it is only opened at night for the bar located there. We ended up just walking up the steps and hanging on the roof regardless but it was trashed from the night before. I also understand dress code, but i saw multiple guests staying at the fairfield inn, get turned away from going to get a drink on the roof because they were not properly dressed. a man and his wife were wearing very nice clothing but he had on sandals, and was turned away and told there was nothing they could do. Guests expecting a hotel with rooftop access, it is completely separate from the hotel and you will not be allowed to the rooftop unless dressed properly. Read less

I’ve stayed here numerous times, and what follows is the culmination of the experiences. The good: no matter how busy, the hotel staff is very welcoming, helpful, and attentive. This includes the front desk, housekeeping, and the very busy breakfast staff. In a really busy morning, for instance, Keitha, who was probably managing to feed and find tables for over 100 people, was nothing but smiles, effectiveness, efficiency, and professionalism. The rooms are also very clean, which is always nice to find. The not so good: the infrastructure. Expect low water pressure from time to time, lack of hot water (which has happened to me here once, so I don’t want to make it sound like an epidemic, but I do wonder if a revitalized infrastructure project may not prevent it in the future) and a broken elevator, but I guess that’s to be expected? Kind of? Also not so good: super long wait times to catch the elevator. This hotel can become very busy with very crowded elevators that may stop at every floor. The Sky Room adds to the hassle when the weekend non-guests want to party over your head. The so-so: The location. It’s central and close to the subway, and a 24 hour Duane Reade just a minute away, but you also have to regularly walk by the not-so-uplifting Port Authority area. Read less

Great location near the major theaters. Room was clean and comfortable, but a bit small. Hey, it’s NYC. Included breakfast was average. Staff was helpful. Two minor negatives to be aware of. Front desk was understaffed compared to demand at major check in times, resulting in longer than necessary wait time. Also the elevator capacity is not up to… Read more

Front desk was understaffed compared to demand at major check in times, resulting in longer than necessary wait time. Also the elevator capacity is not up to demand at peak times. You can wait 5-10 minutes if you are on the upper floors. But pricing decent for the area, would stay again. Read less

Okey, don´t get me wrong here. Fairfields inn & suites is an okey hotel if you look at service, rooms, staff etc. What is wrong is their total ignorance of the environment. Like most other hotels they do have signs in the bathroom that they hope their customers reuse the towels to save water. On the door they kindly ask you to turn of the aircondition to save power for the environment. So far so good. The problem is when you enter the breakfast area in the morning and they don´t have anything else than single use plastic cups, single use plastic cutlery, single use coffee mugs and plates. This is where we can talk about wasting resources. I contacted Fairfield Inn about this and got a short answer. I quote: "Unfortunately we are not a full service hotel so we do not have the opportunity to use glassware in our breakfast area." I won't stay there again until they have fixed this or leased the breakfast to another hotel nearby where their guests can have breakfast. Read less
