Hilton Garden Inn New York- Central Park South

Midtown, New York

The hotel

About as close to the Big Apple’s core as you can get, this Midtown hotel’s hugged by the theatre district, Central Park, Fifth Avenue’s shopping, and all those ‘cover story’ sights Manhattan’s famous for. It has a story of its own too – being on the hallowed turf of The Hit Factory, where stars like Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Stevie Wonder made music. At Hilton Garden Inn Central Park South, they know you’re here to experience the city, not a hotel room, but that hasn’t stopped them adding comforts like evening room service, in-room microwaves and mini-fridges (ideal for treats from their Pavilion Pantry market), and complimentary WiFi. When you’re not dining ‘in’, you can head down to the hotel’s Empire Steak House for prime beef or seafood specials, or go ‘out out’ to one of Midtown’s must-try restaurants.

Despite some minor "glitches" staff was very responsive. Marissa, the front desk manager, was very concerned that three things went wrong - and, to help make up for it, gave me a generous late checkout time and extra points. My favorite room is the Junior Suite - I love the room size and spending time on the expansive terrace. It is a shame that some "incident" has forced the removal of the furniture cushions. I'm hopeful some compromise might be found to restore the comfort of the terrace. Still, it was lovely enjoying breakfast, one supper, and and evening cocktail while watching the city skyline. I look forward to returning next year. Read less

The hotel is in a great location, close to time square, Central Park, Rockefeller center, etc. There are many subway stations nearby. The bed was comfortable and, although the room seemed clean, the shower had some mold buildup. I was disappointed that they charge for bottles of water. They charge $3 for small bottles. I recommend visitors to get… Read more

Good place to stay in New York. Easy walk to subway, close to everything, room comfy, staff friendly. Close to some good restaurants. Free coffee and paper in lobby. We had one small issue with our room that was taken care.of right away. If I come back I will stay here again.

I enjoyed the value (low mid range from what I could observe for the area I was looking for). Outstanding location. Easy walking to Broadway, Central park and the subway. I had read comments about not enough hot water. We had plenty. I also read about the elevators being substandard. There are three banks for 34 floors so some wait times could… Read more

I had read comments about not enough hot water. We had plenty. I also read about the elevators being substandard. There are three banks for 34 floors so some wait times could be anticipated but we had no issues. We did notice some non working banks twice, but the maintenance staff remedied the situation quickly. I would absolutely stay there again. Read less
