We read the reviews going into our holiday stay at this hotel. So we expected the worst and hoped for the best. We read about long check-in lines. We did not experience this problem. Check -in was a breeze. But, yea, we did see long lines at other times. We read about guests not having hot water. Our sink water temp was tepid at best but basically cold water. We did however have hot water running in our shower at a low pressure. But hot nonetheless. The service at The Market was a bit slow and the food/snack options seemed average to below average, at best. The most noticeable FAIL that we experienced at the hotel was our room lighting. As a result of the reopening post-COVID shutdown, the programming for the room lighting was totally messed up. The lights had a kind of its own turning off/on at the most inconvenient times … such as ALL LIGHTS TURNING ON AUTOMATICALLY DURING BEDTIME (3:00 am)!!!! OMG was that freakin annoying. Engineering was called in to unplug the backlighting to the bed which helped mitigate the problem. But the lights still turned on/off for no rhyme or reason. On the plus side…great location. We’ve read that the hotel is slated to be demolished and that seems to be the mindset of the entire staff .. no one go above and beyond to provide excellent service. Such a shame. We stayed here a few years ago and enjoyed our stay and felt we got value for what we paid. That is no longer the case today. Read less

A perfect hotel in a perfect location. Will stay here again. The rooms are very modern and extremely clean. The personal check in process was helpful as I was able to save extra money and resolved a room reservation issue.

This by far is the perfect location and definitely worth the price, would highly recommend to anyone. It was conveniently located next to Grand Central and right in the hub of every place we wanted to see!

Hyatt Globallist benefits almost non-existent. Others have written about maintenance issues in rooms - all true must as we hoped it wouldn’t be. Huge disappointment. Even tried to ask for a different room after 2nd maintenance visit on first night but front desk wasn’t answering the phone, and I was too tired to go make a stink…
