I am a ihg gold member so expect more from Kimpton than what i received staying at this hotel recently. Check in: the 2 guys at the desk were so nonchalant I had to ask them could i check in. Most helpful person was the door man to get us checked in. Next, requested an upgrade before arriving. Nothing was mentioned about my request until I asked. was told by the guy at the desk 'guess you did not get it". Finally was placed in a higher floor room, 14th floor which i normally request to get a view of the city. what i was not warned about was a club on the 17th floor on saturday nights where the music was thumping at 2am in the morning rattling our room. was not warned about this at check in and given an opportunity to get another room. Night manager was not very helpful; was asked why we were not warned about this at check-in she indicated things were in "transition" as this wioll not be a kimpton property much longer thus the slip in not telling us about the nightclub noise. weak excuse. To their credit we were comped the Saturday stay, and was told we would get additional ihg points (not received yet). Just think we should have been warned at check in about the nightclub when we arrived and given the opportunity for a different room especially as an ihg member. Will not be back when we come to nyc in a few weeks. Read less

Nice hotel, modern rooms but incredible construction noise. Staff neither imterested nor helpful, except for breakfast crew. Windows are not soundproof at all, does not honor privileges for lhg unless booled directly. Housekeepimg did not clean room on a Saturday.

We were told that our room wasn’t ready yet and instead of being offered an upgrade, we were offered a downgrade (with no price reduction except for a waived “activity fee”). For obvious reasons we chose too wait for our room since we had paid extra for a “city view”. When our room was finally ready, we were disappointed to find that the city view that we had paid for was a view of a construction zone. Not only that, but we were now paying full activity fee and the rooftop bar was closed for a private party. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The bed was great. But I will note that with construction comes loud noise... starting at 6am. So overall, if given the chance to redo our stay, I would have chosen a different hotel. Read less

Great rooftop bar with excellent views, however one of our party had a much larger credit card charge than he signed for which was rather alarming while the restaurant team were looking into why this happened, it’s not what you want to hear!! I have never stayed at a Kimpton, but now I do not think I will stay with any other brand. Ink48 was beautiful. centrally located and for us, close to Juillard. The suite was spacious, clean and comfortable with contemporary decor. The Team was friendly and efficient. The rooftop bar had a panoramic view of New York. We had room service and the food was great! I highly recommend the Kimpton Ink48 Hotel in New York City! Thank you for a wonderful experience. Read less
