I had heard so many awesome things about Kimpton Hotels - particularly for excelling in offering quality customer service and giving nice perks to their guests. I think Ink 48 does well in some areas, but doesn't really hit all the points for me to be completely satisfied with my experience. On check-in day, my room was burning hot - about 90 degrees. I tried cooling down the room, but it was impossible. I went down to the counter and asked if I could be moved. The front desk said they would have engineering check out the issue and would then move me if they couldn't fix the error. They said they had no other rooms available. Mind you, this was around midnight and I had just gotten off a flight - I wanted to crash. I left the hotel, got soaked in the rain and came back to learn - they were going to move me to the room next to the one I was assigned. So there were other open rooms... At other hotels, I would usually just be moved. This is an incredibly poor customer experience. The room itself was large by NY standards and comfortable. The bed was nice and there were blackout shades available. No additional couch, desk or dining table, but there was a small coffee table. My room had no tub, but there was a very energizing rain shower. Wifi speeds were pretty decent. Minibar was interesting - tons of local products, but still very expensive! No additional mini-fridge or cooler in room. For being a hotel targeted to millennials, the lack of availability to link up your streaming services (Netflix, Hulu) to the TV is pretty lame. Otherwise, your only options are live TV channels. There is free coffee in the morning and free wine in the evening - but no free breakfast or any other perks, although the resort fee includes a $10 credit for in-room or restaurant dining. Here are some other notes about the area: This hotel is in Hells Kitchen and is not the most "touristy" area in NYC. That can be a good thing because it's a bit more chill than staying in Times Square for example, but you do have to walk a bit if you want to get a drug store or a nice sit-down restaurant. There is a 24 hr. deli about a block away and a Halal cart that sets up shop at night. There are also some nightclubs and strip clubs adjacent to the hotel, if you are planning to bring family. At the end of the day, I don't know if I would recommend or come back to Ink48. The room was comfortable, but nothing spectacular. Read less

The hotel itself is nice and well designed. I've stayed before and it was great. However now there is construction going on next door and it woke me up early in the morning. Other hotels that know there is lots of construction going on nearby think ahead and provide ear plugs and a note to anticipate it. I was sorely disappointed a hotel at this… Read more

Forewarning there is construction across the street, started working around 7am. It was fine for me since I was up anyways for work but for those on vacation might want to suggest a room on the other side of the building. For work, our office is near Times Square which I dread staying at hotels around there. This hotel is a short walk from that area in a much quieter and less touristy spot. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others. Read less

Experienced lots of issues. The room was less than 200 square feet versus the advertised 275 square feet. The room was supposed to have a desk but didn't, which made it impossible to work in the room. The TV was smaller than the 42 inches advertised on the Kimpton web site as well--probably 36 inches. I arrived early and requested check in,… Read more

I arrived early and requested check in, and many people got their rooms before me. Worst of all, my room wasn't even available at the check in time. I always make a special request fro a room away from the elevator, and this was not accommodated. Read less
