Radio City Apartments

Midtown, New York

The hotel

You’ve seen them do it in the movies, but now you can experience New York living for yourself – walking below the bulb-lit canopy to enter your apartment block, a friendly nod from the front desk, before you hop into the elevator and ride up to your pied-a-terre. But this is New York living on a different scale – as Radio City Apartments is right in Midtown Manhattan, just moments from its namesake, Radio City Music Hall. It comes with all those home comforts you’d expect if you lived here, like complimentary WiFi and a kitchenette with a microwave, hob, fridge, and coffee maker – and those come as standard whether you’re picking a two bedroom pad or a studio. And the location’s the same for every apartment too – just steps from sights like Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Fifth Avenue.

This is literally the worst hotel experience I’d had in my life. I stayed there for one night 10/13-10/14, I checked in around 3:30, firstly my room was still being cleaned when I came up to the floor. Which is fine. But that night at 1:44 am, someone literally OPENED MY DOOR and try to walk in!! Thankfully I had the chain latched, and I screamed… Read more

But that night at 1:44 am, someone literally OPENED MY DOOR and try to walk in!! Thankfully I had the chain latched, and I screamed out. The man said he was maintenance and was sent to clean the room (at 1:45 am?!?) he then started saying that I’m not in the computer and I need to come out and go downstairs. I said I’m not going downstairs, so I called the front desk, who was like oh but the room was unoccupied earlier. No apologies nothing! I don’t know if they were trying to get me out of the room so they can bulgrarize the room, or saw a single female checking in. But of course I stayed up all night and as soon as I could go back into my office, I checked out, and now disputing the charge. Read less

Three women spent four nights here, in a two-bedroom unit. Yes, it is old, it is small, and there is a lot of noise from area construction and night-time revelry. The higher the floor, the less the noise. It was very clean, with good beds and a nice, though small, bathroom. The extra lavatory and big counter outside the bathroom was a bonus for… Read more

The higher the floor, the less the noise. It was very clean, with good beds and a nice, though small, bathroom. The extra lavatory and big counter outside the bathroom was a bonus for the three of us. We had a few service requests of the staff, and they were met immediately, and with a smile. One warning--if you need total darkness to sleep you may need to take your own black-out curtain to hang over the window blinds, which do not keep out the glow of city lights. We will stay here again. Read less

First of all, my advice is do not book the studio with two double beds. Its a shoe box. Book the deluxe studio or the one bedroom apartment. Even if you book the deluxe studio, be aware there is no closet or place for you to store your suitcases. You will have to keep them standing next to your bed because there is no place for them. We booked a… Read more

Even if you book the deluxe studio, be aware there is no closet or place for you to store your suitcases. You will have to keep them standing next to your bed because there is no place for them. We booked a room for a couple and a twelve years old child and we thought it was too small for the three of us in the room. The beds were not spacious. The apartment was clean and the location is right by Times Square and the deluxe studio has a kitchenette with refrigerator, stove and a small round table with two chairs, which can be very useful. This hotel is in a perfect location. A subway station is at the end of the block. Only heard neighbors when walking down the hall to my room. I wish I'd found this hidden gem long before now. Read less

Very, very clean. Not much ‘city noise’. We were here on the hottest day of the year (so far). A/C worked perfectly. Can’t say enough great things about this hotel. Great location, clean, excellent customer service - the best! We will definitely be back!! Read less
