We had a room that was way too small with 2 queen beds in it. Room was neat and clean but we had no room to move around in it. There was no lighting in the room except for the 1 lamp on the nightstand. Imagine 4 women trying to get dressed at once in a cramped unlit room! The location of the hotel was not bad. Overall The staff was very nice and attentive and the experience wasn’t bad. Next time we may have to cough up a few more bucks for a suite there or go to a motel. Read less

The bed was comfortable and the desk agents were friendly. I did have issues with things not working, however. My room key had to be replaced twice because it stopped working. I didn’t have it near other cards that would demagnetise it so it was a mystery. The conference room key never worked despite replacing it twice. The television was not… Read more

I didn’t have it near other cards that would demagnetise it so it was a mystery. The conference room key never worked despite replacing it twice. The television was not hooked up. The room phone would not connect to the front desk so I used my cell to call and have the TV fixed. It was repaired quickly and with a smile. I have just never had so many issues and time is valuable on business trips. The real plus was that the hotel staff were friendly and did try to help. Read less

Great hotel, decent size rooms for city centre hotel and a lovely stay. The beds were amazing, we slept really well. The tv has Netflix built in, if that’s important to you! We didn’t have breakfast in the hokey as there are a few places nearby like cafe olympia and little Collins. They do great coffee and muffins. We booked a double room for myself and my son as that was all that was available on Expedia. When we arrived the hotel concierge look at us, adult and 15 year old son and said, you have only one bed, let me see if we can give you 2 beds. This was done quickly and we found ourselves with 2 double beds. Many thanks, we had a great time in New York and would love to come back to you. Read less

So after a 5 hour flight where I had just received a standing ovation for defending the delta attendants from a terrible customer - I made my way to my first stay at the Renaissance 57 in New York - a “full service hotel.” Upon arriving I was told the bar is closed but I asked about room service as this is a Renaissance after all and all Renaissance’s have restaurants as opposed to their 20 lower level sister properties, and was told it was closed and they had noted that on the app when i made the reservation. Disappointed i headed to my room but decided to check the app where there wasn’t a single notification of this in the booking process. Nothing I love better than a customer service LIE. I went back down figuring I could walk to get a snack but stopped by the desk pretty irate and hangry at this point. Front desk guy continues lying who called his manager over who was completely dismissive of the situation saying it was on the site, completely forgetting the app lie. When i said your company encourages people to book on the app, she could care less and told me to call customer service . I asked to use the phone and she told me that’s for customers (I guess Lifetime titanium elite doesn’t make me one). When I mentioned there’s no minibars and I’d like A soda I was told the bar has them but closed 5 mins earlier so no dice. Great information and effort. Rudeness up and down and when I called the 800 # was put on a 20 minute hold - all this time missing food and my chance to work in the my room. 30 minutes later I returned with food from another hotel (not that they would offer to go get for me). Hands down - THE WORST 4-star experience I have ever had. Everyone i know will know to never stay here - this hotel is an embarrassment to the Renaissance and Marriott name, an insult to hotel employees everywhere and a black stain on Marriotts technology. Good job Marriott! WAIT - how do I really feel???? Read less

The hotel is very nice, rooms are large for New York and modern. The location was close to Central Park. We did not have a lot of interaction with the staff. But the lady who did the breakfast was lovely. Yes I would stay in this hotel group again.
