Salisbury

Midtown, New York

The hotel

NYC rooms are often rather, shall we say, 'compact'. However, the Salisbury's rooms are substantially bigger, as they used to be apartments! For a supplement, you can upgrade to a huge suite with 2 double beds and separate living room with sleeper sofa. The location is wonderfully central - how about a jog in the park or a bit of shopping down 5th Avenue?

Family trip to NYC on a Holiday weekend. Found this place online. At the heart of midtown - across from Carnegie Hall and the Russian Tea Room on W 57th. It’s old fashioned, for sure, but very clean and our suite was HUGE! Was probably an apt. at one time. If you’re looking for modern hotel amenities, this hotel may not be for you. It’s old fashioned, for sure, but very clean and our suite was HUGE! Was probably an apt. at one time. If you’re looking for modern hotel amenities, this hotel may not be for you. If you’re looking for a large, comfortable space in a great location, for a great value, in NYC - you found it. The front desk staff didn’t say much, but checked us in efficiently. The bellman, Paul, was friendly and helpful. There is a nice market across the street. Very convenient, homey and comfortable. We will definitely return! Read less

Ive stayed multple times over the years at the Salisbury. We enjoy having a suite for the extra room. The room needed a new couch and a coat of paint but the room and bathroom was very clean. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Price and location is the best!

This is a really OLD hotel. I got an incredible deal on my room, so I can't complain, but I will point out that contrary to the hotel's website, I had no mini fridge or coffee maker in my room. That said, the room and bathroom were were big and clean and the bed was comfortable. And the location can't be beat (right across from Carnegie Hall). I… Read more

We love the Salisbury as the size of the rooms are massive for the price and the location is excellent for central park, Broadway, and Times Square. Yes it is old and the boards squeak but it is part of the charm. Bedding was clean, room always clean, doormen polite and helpful, only down side is the lifts can be slow.

Older hotel but good location, New York is. Friendly place and a lot to see and do. I would recommended the 911 museum to see, the Brooklyn bridge to walk, Ellis island, can't go wrong in Nyc, so many good pizza places for a fast meal and other great restaurants too!!!!!
