Salisbury

Midtown, New York

The hotel

NYC rooms are often rather, shall we say, 'compact'. However, the Salisbury's rooms are substantially bigger, as they used to be apartments! For a supplement, you can upgrade to a huge suite with 2 double beds and separate living room with sleeper sofa. The location is wonderfully central - how about a jog in the park or a bit of shopping down 5th Avenue?

For the price, you won't go wrong. Yes, as some have indicated, it's aged, but for the price, you get a hell of a deal. It's clean and very functional. You couldn't ask for a better location. Employees are very friendly and helpful. We were very happy with our stay there. Highly recommend.

Great location. Hotel is old. Staff is helpful. Hotel is closing in February. Too bad it is closing as the location is very central. Lots of good restaurants close buy. Close to subway. Hope that it will reopen. Rates are very reasonable.

Metro station was just round the corner and Central Park just about 10 minutes walk. We were family of 5 and the found the suit to be more than average size for the prize. Check in and Check out was quick and easy. Staff was always smiling and courteous. Elevators were antique in nature but worked well. No issues with the cleaning nor the quietness of the surrounding. Kids enjoyed the TV and the programs it offered. Beds were quite big and comfortable. Overall it was good choice and given another chance I will be staying there. Read less

We would definitely stay there again. Kudos to management and staff Read less

It’s just like when you visit your Grandma - it’s needs some repairs, the furniture is old, you know the drill. But it’s very welcoming and homey. I will stay here until she’s gone and then I will miss her terribly.
